I don't mean to stoke more bait and start more of a flamewar but isn't the appeal of Superman beyond the "good guy does good things and thus involves cool powers and action" basically all the sci-fi stuff involved with him? I mean Superman was basically just a sci-fi mag with new enemies, locales, and sci-fi concepts being added and his villains being weird out-there ideas for their time periods in culture like Bizzarro, Parasite, Brainiac, etc.?
