Their cultural relevance lasted less than 30 years.
We have officially entered a point where CN and Nick basically dont even exist as concepts anymore its more accurately Paramount vs HBO vs Disney + then taking the 3 of them to compete with the animation catagories of all the other streaming servicesIf it we're being arbitrary about this, Netflix is winning because of its brand familiarity but if were speaking available content then Prime Video is winning because it has an actual library of content that is only further expanding.
>>151892739They had cultural relevance?
Streaming truly was the worst thing to happen to the entertainment industry.
>>151892821Disney did but only for their live action stars.
Cartoon Network > Disney Channel >>>>>>> Nickelodeon
>>151892739It’s actually fucking incredible how badly they fumbled the bag.CN especially, they utterly destroyed their “cool factor” two separate times: once in 2004 and then again around 2014. Both years they just decided “let’s stop making good shows that people like and instead make a bunch of overly juvenile dogshit with no staying power”.
>>151892821Yes everyone watched nick/cn only girls watched Disney in the early 2000s. Im curious what happened to CN, because they had a lot of good cartoons. Then all of sudden they started making shit that seemed to target adult autists and troons
>>151892841Ben 10 was good
>>151892841Teen Titans Go was 9/11 for zilliennial kid culture.
>>151892860>muh troons Ok, retard
>>151892739Same could be said about Cable TV as a whole.
>>15189282624-hour kids channels did the same thing to Saturday morning blocks.
>>151892902At least cartoon channels were able to provide a financial incentive to create animations. Streaming services could not care less.
>>151892902Saturday Morning Cartoons continued to exist after CN and Nick were created. The problem was that they kept shortening the blocks.
>>151892739Corporate America is just that good baby. There isn't even such a thing as decade culture anymore.Hell, you should see what happened to the music industry. Now THAT'S depressing.
