The 90s was the perfect era for Ghost Rider to thrive, people couldn't get enough of tough as nails characters who looked metal/undead or had some occult origin. People unfortunately don't really do that kind of stuff sincerely nowadays because they're irony poisoned and afraid of seeming too "edgy".
