>>151916775Genuinely even as a kid I kinda felt bad for the butler, but that's 90% because of how he's animated + the fact that I can't help but feel sympathetic to sad old men.Though in retrospect, while I get being pissed that he's so ignored in the will despite serving the lady for so long, he could've easily still enjoyed the fortune himself as long as he took care of the stupid cats too. Hell, he would've been rich enough to just hire a servant JUST to take care of the cats if he wanted nothing to do with them. It's not as though the police or any welfare agency would be bothered to check up on the cats lifestyles or to make sure he's only using the money on them.

The story hinges on the fact that Edgar doesn't understand how long a cat lives or that as their caretaker he would be responsible for the money.
