I found this book to be a struggle. The concept of an old tired cynical Batman coming out of retirement was great, but by book four my interest was entirely depleted. All this shit with Superman and the Russians felt completely out of place in a Batman story and I didn't give a shit about any of it. I don't think I'll be checking out any more Frank Miller.
Well at least you tried, retard.
>>151924000Stick to animated cartoons.
>>151924039>>151924125Sorry, but Alan Moore did mature storylines with Swamp Thing two years before Frank Miller put out this unfocused mess and he did it way better. I don't know why the fuck this book gets held up as the originator of dark adult-oriented comics.
>>151924000Most elseworld/limited series are trash but since these are the only "comics" casuals read they hype them as if they were good, TDKR is no exception.>>151924159Alan Moore is a hack too.
John Byrne alleges that when the watchmen pages came into the DC offices, it made everyone rethink what they were doing, including Frank Miller who reworked DK into involving more political elements for the last two books. That said, Year One is far more back to basics as a Batman book and may be worth checking out.
>>151924235You think OP can read cursive?
>>151924159You're not equipped for Swamp Thing either. >>151924179>good comics are le bad!Real original.
>>151924000How dare you not like this terrible book, don't you want to know about the mutants and the terrible politics of the 1980s. They were funny glasses and he's got muscles and there's big boots. How exciting
>>151924269>>151924720TDKR isn't any sort of milestone. There's so many better adult comics from before and after its publication. It starts out strong and then completely falls apart as it attempts to do way too many things at once.
>>151924778>>151924821You're as dumb as OP.
>>151924039>triedNope. This is weak bait.
>>151924720>good comics are le bad!Is not good, get over it.
>>151924000Frank Miller in general is not a great writer.
>>151926471He was great back in the day.
>>151924000I don't know what to tell you. I've read it multiple times over the years and it's always as good as the first time, every time. I almost want to do a story time now just because of this.
>>151926471He's one of the best, and that's become more and more obvious as the years have gone on. Now, even ASB&RtBW is gold compared to the slop that they produce and a haiil mary throw directly in the opposite direction the industry was headed.
>>151924125GO HOME CARTOONFAG
>>151926586He was ok and then he got retarded.>>151926743Shitpost.
>>151924125>>151926833kek
>>151924159Hardly anyone was reading Swamp Thing.>>151926471That's true, however he is a great storyteller who revolutionized storytelling in American comics.
>>151924000>reading a book from the 1980s>"Why are there all these things about the 1980s in it?"
>>151924000I mean this sincerely. It might just be too mature for you.
>>151927659>no effort replyOpinion discarded.
>>151926425It's great.
>>151931010Yeah.
