1 > 3 > 2 > 4right?
>>151930516I only watched the first two. The first one is better.
I dislike the amount of pop culture references in 2
>>151930544>Poltergeist TV sign off>Star Wars I am your father spoofWhat else?
>>151930630>Rex running after the car like in Jurassic Park>tour guide barbie referencing the buzz lightyear toy shortage in 95>Slinky referencing Forrest Gump with his line "I'm not a smart dog, but I know what roadkill is"
>>151930516no1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6
>>151930684Toy Story 4 answered the existential question of "What makes a toy come alive?" and Toy Story 5's gonna explore the threat tablets and handheld devices have against children's toys. What would there even BE in a sixth movie??
>>151930812After all of mankind is extinct (let's say bioweapons, not nuclear war) toys have inherited the earth. That's as far as I got, but they already said it has to come out in two years, so no backing out now. Then of course there will be the five "live action" TS remakes.
>>1519305161 >>> 2 > 4 > 3I say that as someone who used to love 3 because the nostalgia gutpunch was specifically designed for me.But after rewatching 3 while revisiting Pixar's catalog, I realized that there's an entire rest of the movie and it's mostly cheap filler that no one remembers. 4 at least has an interesting storyline even if it fumbles at times.1 is a timeless masterpiece and pretty much perfect. 2 is decent but a major downgrade from 1, far too sanitized with a more generic style of referential comedy.
>>151931115Interesting take
>>151930516I prefer 2 over 1 because almost all the characters have more to do and the villain is better
>>151930516Yes
>>151931115My major reason for not liking 4 is how it bastardizes the characters far beyond what 3 ever did. Especially Woody. The ending of 4 (and honestly Woody's entire arc in 4) completely spits in the face of absolutely everything Woody stood for through the entire trilogy and retroactively made both Pete and Lotso 100% correct. Also Forky is not a fun character nor is the new Bo Peep.
>>1519314722 is honestly better than 1 in almost every respect. The central conflict and theme of accepting mortal life vs leaving it for 'immortality' or otherwise being forced to let down those who've been seeking it their whole existence, is much more interesting and more than a matter of "getting over" jealousy and delusion. The jokes are also funnier and less gimmicky.>>151931667Pete was completely in the right the whole of 2 aside from right at the very end when they decided to make him a villain. He wasn't even a 'twist villain', he had every reason to believe and value what he did right up until there was an alternative, but the writers were seemingly too scared to have the other character cross someone as clearly well meaning as him without having him become 'evil'.
