Cause not only did she not do anything all the times he cheated on her, she also never made an effort to be a part of his life. Ben didn't even know they were broken up for months because he hadn't even thought about her that whole time, and this was portrayed as normal for him. She never went out of her way to be noticed by him, knowing that if she doesn't she will never even cross his mind. But she still stayed with him. Ester would at least call Ben so it was an improvement. Only problem was Ester never had anything interesting to say so Ben wouldn't even pick up. He did not give a single shit about taking their relationship to the next level or whatever. Man just wants all action, all the time. Ben has like, a phobia of sitting with his thoughts. I'm pretty sure he just intentionally has his brain turned off at all times after the highbreed shit. I think what happened is he had a good long think about everything that happened in that arc and it scared him and he basically just decided never to think again. Anyway the point is Julie and Ester tried having a normal relationship with a guy like Ben and it just doesn't work like that. Ben's entire life is just pure chaos and if you want to be in it you have to forcibly insert yourself into it, like Kai does.
