>What does that even mean?
I mean when you look at this doodle does your brain place it into the category of anime/anime-adjacent or do you place it into the category of a cartoon? If you place it into the former, what could I do to make it more cartoony?

The problem is that "anime" is not an art style, is a general notion that something was animated/draw in japan, so i dare you to see the work of ozamu tesuka (astroboy creator) and tell me is is not "cartoony".
Now with all of that say....maybe a more big head compare to the rest of the (not fully draw) body and big eyes, can make it more "cartoony", thats if you want to get a more stereotipical western style.

I understand that but people tend to group things under certain categories based on common artistic choices so it is just easier to talk about it as if it is an art style. Thanks for the feedback.
