If they do go back, it would be a monkey's paw situation. Seeing that visual style be placed overtop modern Disney writing would just be depressing.

I dunno, I think 2D would've worked better for Luca. And being able to make beautiful scenes instead of grubhub faces might've encouraged them to keep in the original "Luca has a crush on Giulia" plot thread, which would've killed speculation that he was gay somehow.
