Why, except for hellholes like Gotham, do DC civilians actually admire and respect superheroes while Marvel treats theirs like crap?
>>151944293Because they know they've got the power
>>151944293“Because its realistic”- some Marvel writer
>>151944293The plot of X-Men, Spider-Man, and the Hulk involve people hating them. DC stories are usually tend to not have that man vs society element.
>>151944293I'm not going to say that DC heroes are gods trying to be human and Marvel is vice versa but the perception is usually that DC heroes are like gods and Marvel heroes are people in costumes. DC heroes do the impossible and stand up for morals and never make mistakes. When they do mess up it's a big deal. Marvel heroes are flawed individuals with problems that the are on display for all to see. They cause problems for the common man. DC heroes keep the world safe and Marvel heroes are always fixing problems they created. And all of Marvel is New York.
>>151944293DC's heroes are actual heroes that are likeable and worthy of reverance whereas Marvel's characters are, more often than not, sociopaths with superpowers. Basically, SOVL vs SOVLless.
>>151944293Marvel is just badly written.
>>151945506DC also has the benefit of mindwiping the general populace whenever crisis-tier events happen. You've started seeing Marvel levels of civilian seethe now that hypertime has been established and everything is canon.
Because conflict makes for more interesting drama and Stan Lee was one of the most misanthropic people alive.
>>151944293Because Marvel's heroes are all fucking assholes who decide genocidal robots monitoring the public are fine, sell their children to the devil and just m*tants in general
>>151944293Because DC heroes are basically The Seven?
>>151945506>DC heroes keep the world safeBy not killing Joker? Or keeping general Zod storaged in case if Metropolis stops worshipping Superman?
>>151945724Yes.
>>151945570really?
>>151946052Yeah yeah nice speech Homelander
