What happened to this?
>>151945174He spent the money on weed
>>151945174Deader than dead. Hundreds of backers put their faith in Charlie, and he let us all down.
>>151946163It finally hit him that he doesn't have the skills to produce Boxtown independently and with limited manpower. Charlie yearns for the traditional studio system
>>151946278No excuse, he could've done an animatic and call it a day, audiences hardly care.If magical girl can do it while working on BCG, so can he. And she did it without a crowdfund
>>151945630This
>>151945630That
>>151946344That's what sets the two apart. All the most successful indie projects were made possible because the person or people leading it could handle many aspects of production with their own two hands. Kiana can do it all, from writing to storyboarding to design to managing a small team. She worked to her strengths while keeping IDWTBAMG feasible by keeping it in animatic form. The only things she really needed help with were voices and music, and she made it work. Charlie Gavin just seems like the type who wants to rush into "having a hit show." And I hate to go there, but the fact he's a recovering alcoholic should've been a sign that he's maybe not the best person to be the founder of a brand-new 'independent animation collective.'
>>151947632 >nearly 10 years later >Karl Hadrika STILL hasn't gotten his own series I am so angry
>>151945174It died. And thank god it did, that shit was so unfunny and uninteresting it hurt.>hee hee hee, I'm a little guy, look how dangerous I am!Wow, as if that shit joke hasn't been done a thousand times, way better. I want that character shot, let's see him plot armor that.
>>151945174He removed tara strong from voicing the purple characterDue to her being outspoken against Hamas which angered backers Also he switched from 2d animation to 3d animation
>>151948712it's too late now. You can't even make a successful indie series without having the right connections
>>151950170What specific metrics make an indie series "successful"?
Why can't someone make an indie series with cool action and sexy women in long fanservice scenes and even sex scenes? That is clearly what /co/ wants. But what I wanna know is, what does it mean to be a good story objectively speaking? I thought each person has a different preference for what kinda story they like watching.
>>151951507Appeal to furries and internet losers who like undertale. that is literally it. If you have a prebuilt audience or some retard to signal boost you, you will make it.
>>151951746>Why can't someone make an indie series with cool action and sexy women in long fanservice scenes and even sex scenes?I was thinking about that and wondering where you could even host it. Like, posting on youtube is an automatic age restriction, and newgrounds is a much smaller reach if you want a larger audience for bigger support. And if you aren't going for straight up porn then something with sex and a serious story is guaranteed to have an army of women and male feminists going after the work with hatred. And anyone that's making these indie animations is probably already a leftist so they wouldn't dream of it.
>>151951935I'll be honest, I think male feminists and women are going to respond with passive aggressive quote retweets than they are coming to reviewbomb it. They have a lot less power than we think.I think Newgrounds would be the best bet because they allow porn and a lot of oldfags here are also old Newgrounders. Also I think as long as this hypothetical action sexy story isn't far right stuff then lefties won't mind it. They might get on it for being a really boring story about a basic guy saving the world and having a generic girlfriend they fucked, but they wouldn't "go after the work with hatred"I was thinking of a traditionally masculine warrior fantasy story to tell with all the elements I mentioned, but I wanna make the story more engaging and unique than a basic good guy beats bad guy story.Hell even Bakshi's Fire and Ice had more going for it than good guys vs. bad guys cause the woman had some agency
