I live out in rural tennessee and there's an everpresent interest in "horror-clown" aesthetic. I think it's emblematic of a demented overgrown-adolescent mindset. Regardless, it's a visible marketing force, so the Joker's appeal must resonate with many millions of lowbrow cavemen.
