The End of an Age!Comics in this thread:>X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale>Astonishing X-Men #32-42
Bump if you're reading.
We're almost done with this. Just hold on a little longer!
This being the last issue of the event means that we're might be seeing some characters from the tie-ins popping up, starting with Logan!
I guess we're doing Quentin vs. Xavier again after the first time in X-Manhunt.
>>151948718Finally, where were you
>>151948792The comic just got ripped, otherwise I've been here the whole time.
Really? Xavier already went out, just like that?
Alright, time for the main show.
>"My consciousness is out of phase with this timeline, Doug. Your words have no effect on me."Very cool that we're establishing more weak spots to Doug's Apocalypse Heir powers...as the event is the about to end.
Someone needed to kill Quentin for having that awful beard.
>>151948718>it's finally overMay this event get memory-holed immediately, what a waste of months of books. Modern storytelling is already decompressed enough.
Taste the snikt!
>>151948718happy new year, my mugga
Oh right, I forgot that this happening was all a part of his keikaku.>>151948915Happy new year!
Oh, that went fast.
>"This isn't some story where we ride in and save the day, Scott. This is a warning."Did we really have to spend 3 months and 50-ish tie-ins for "a warning", though?
Good thing that AoR-Hank realized what just happened and sent some (hopefully useful) intel for the X-Men to use in the present.
You'd think that the Phoenix Force could instantly fry the X-Virus or do SOMETHING at least, but nope.Oh well, at least Spidey made an appearance.
>Revelation won in the end and became a living planetYeah, uh...I don't even.
But enough about that, we got an epilogue.
At long last, it's finally revealed: 3K's leader is none other than the original Beast! Which makes sense, since his "death" in X-Force #50 was written in a way that any writer could reveal that he survived. We'll have to see how 3K are going to try to use the X-Virus in the present to make more mutants like they used to, and what info AOR-Hank gave the X-Men.
>>151949002Didn’t Pete die at the end?
checklist
And now for Infinity Comics.
And with only one X-Book out this week, that gives us another opportunity to clear out the Infinity Comics log. Marvel Unlimited has been canceling the Infinity Comics across the board, including Astonishing X-Men. But just as they canceled it, the week after they released an Infinity Comic that ties into Age of Revelation, which I am still not covering because I am waiting for all of the issues to get ripped. So today we'll be covering just the last batch of Astonishing X-Men. Will we get another ongoing Infinity Comic just in time for Shadows of Tomorrow? Maybe, who knows. We begin first with "A Change of Heart" by Tim Seeley and Edoardo Audino, a 7-parter where the Generation X reunion deal with...Morph!?
>>151949048No only May died, Pete survived
>>151949046The 3k Gene bomb that is on the Timeslide pageAlongside XvXWhich is OG Evil Beast's X-Men vs Charles and Scott's OG X-MenAgain, none of this would happen if they didnt ruin hank with the Legacy virus PTSD
>>151948976so was it dark beast or kissinger beast who didnt die to a nuke
>>151948957This was clearly just supposed to be MacKay's attempt at DOFP that Brevoort stretched into an "event" in order to cover up how many books he fucked up and got shit canned with his "conducting"
>>151948747VIDEOGAME
>>151949013Look Outside did this ending better
>>151949046This whole event could've just been an emailBrevoort needs to be fired YESTERDAY
>>151949046waaaaaaaaaackkkkk
>>151949046What an odd event
And then Tim Seeley and Alex Paknadel team-up with Phillip Sevy to give you the 4-part finale of this Infinity Comic — "That Ye Be Not Judged".
>>151949024So Cyclops has to live with the hopeless knowledge that his people can be easily brainwashed into disease-spreading cultistsWhat a great message for the X-Office to lead into 2026 with...
>>151948987lookit dem kwannon boobies
>>151949002I certainly respect Gail Simone's decision to go "Fuck this. Imma do my own thing..." with Unbreakable
>>151948935dominions all over again
>>151948747LIFE IS LIKE A VIDEO GAME
>>151949046>>151949059They call it 0070 sales0 memorable moments 7 random future kids
Next week: SHADOWS OF TOMORROW!X-Men #23, Wolverine #14.And that's it! If you liked these, support your LCS or whatever.
Are they gonna get Siryn out or is that just not happening?
Elbeccabros . . . Did she die before becoming part of the living planet?
>>151949687except not a shitty hard sci-fi concept that doesnt fit marvel
So to recap:>AoR was definitely an arc that got bloated into an event>WoR and Last Wolverine are the only tie-ins that mattered>Sinister's whack DNA didn't matter>The Franklin/HERBIE story can't happen>Unbreakable X-Men, Expatriate X-Men, Rogue Storm, Radioactive Spider-man, Iron Frost, KINOshots, Binary, Sabretooth, Sinister's Six, Cloak & Dagger ,Undeadpool, and X-Vengers didn't matter
>>151949989iron frost might
>>151949881They haven't solicited anything about a follow-up strike on Graymalkin prison yetSo not until May at the earliest. Which takes us into Summer Event territoryBut X-Men United is only just starting in April, so if there's going to be another big event they may want to wait for the first few issues of that to come out first
>>151949989Iron & Frost also matters if they actually decide to follow up on it, since Tony got an info dump regarding this timeline and the X-Virus
>>151949046I feel like this event would have been fine if it was just the stuff written by Mackay. There were some decent moments, evil beast reveal is cool, Revelation winning is cool. But putting every x-book on hold for a dozen inconsequential mini-arcs with versions of these characters I don't care about sucked.
>>151949013In the beginning was the Word,
>>151950015>>151950060>one of the worst tie-ins is the only other one that matters to the present timelineepic
>>151949046Wow, what a twist. This had to be an event? A three month long event that stunted every book in the line when they had already been stalled from Manhunt? The only thing that came from this outside of this specific reveal was Tony sending himself an e-mail (and that has at best a 50/50 on ever getting mentioned again).
>>151950201>worst tie-ins>gave us based ironfrost doomed romance kinonah
>>151950227Under no circumstances should Emma be jobbing to fucking Marrow
>>151949024He really didn't notice? That Hank was talking like Krakoa Beast or like Dark Beast the whole time.
>>151950266he was busy with other stuff
>>151949046Oh shit.
>>151950227Terrible idea being carried by Emma's popularity and that it followed a more blatantly awful one.
>>151948901An Apocalypse-Wolverine fastball special is pretty cool even though this event has sucked.
>>151949046Pretty good twist, now I have to go back and re-read all of his interactions.
>>151950468I remember people here mentioning it multiple times before it was confirmed on page.
>>151949046This could have been a 4 issue story arc...
>>151949882She probably lived long enough to be assimilated. Whether that's a good thing or not depends on you.
>>151950537People thought new Hank was becoming more like the old one, not that it was the 3K guy himself who was Beast.
>>151950060>Iron & Frost also mattersBut I don't want it to.
>>151949013Unironically the worst fucking Marvel event. Move over Civil War 2 you've been deposed
>>151950681No at least some people mentioned it was old Hank who was in 3K and also brought to the futureIncluding me
>>151950801How do you rank OWUD?
>>151949046Thanks. As someone who has only read this event and barely any of the other from the ashes stuff, I'm not entirely sure what to make of this for now. I can respect a kill 'em all ending but the final encounter wasn't climactic enough to pull it off. I guess I need to go catch back up on post-krakoa now...
>>151950867Like 99% of events it'll be completely forgettable For all it's flaws OWUD had some good shit like Red Hulk and this page. It also had a decent ending it squandered to go on for another six issues. Age of Revelations has the absolutely retarded ending that might let it's infamy live longer
>>151949989>The Franklin/HERBIE story can't happenDoug could be defeated in the future by a random alien and the planet turn back to """normal""" so the new species HERBIE will help still exist
what an awful event
>>151949048Only on the inside
>>151948855Good old Sunk Cost Fallacy. Always a persistant motivator.
>>151949063Holy fucking shit this event sucked assHow the hell did Brevoort make one that is somehow even worse than all of his 3 previous X-Events?
>>151949013Thanks to Doug this timeline will have 90% less of universe ending events
>>151949046YOU SON OF A BITCH I KNEW THAT NUKE DIDN'T KILL YOU
>>151949013Like every book in these event: All was for nothing, everyone loses, including (You) the reader
>>151952478He can't die until he reforms.
>>151950266Did you?
>>151952509He's been written in a way that he'll be an irredeemable bad guy for as long as we keep up with these books
