So when's the sequel?
>>151949789It evaporated
>>151949789Hopefully never.
>>151949789Only Toy Story and The Incredibles will be having those from now on.
>>151949789What was the last film Pixar did a sequel to?I think Pixar will only make sequels to films which are from their classic period, or are otherwise a huge hit.I think the most recent Pixar film to get a sequel was Inside Out, and that came out over 10 years ago
Fire people are the AsiansWater people are the whitesDirt people are the brownsGAS people are THE JEWS
>>151949789Never, it only made its budget back and never actually made any profit for Disney.
>>151949789I don't think we needed one. It's a decent idea that wasn't executed to the fullest potential. There's a lot of room to build off it, but frankly, I don't think it's worth it.
>>151950509Anon, everything about the fire people was very middle eastern.
>>151949789>fire people go out when touching water>water people boil alive when touching fire>wade and ember can touch without any reason>yet wade boils alive in the small room with ember near the end of the movieInfuriating writing.
>>151950547They were mostly inspired by asians, more specifically koreans. The movie took inspiration from the director's background, as the son of immigrants in the USA.
>>151950585The reasons are some sort of Leidenfrost effect taking place, but also just love.Yeah, it's a bit cheesy, but it is what it is.
>>151950585Do you know what a hearth is?
>>151950585>fire begets fire, that's why fire marries fire>fire would never be born from oxygen marrying carbon, don't be silly>now whites you should marry blacks and make steamI would like to say the product is self defeating but people who believe in it see no flaws in their storytelling because it agrees with their values
>>151950781I actually thought they were going with the Leidenfrost effect during their whole touching scene. And I thought it would have been reincorporated in the hearth scene. It'd be much more touching than evaporating. Imagine instead:>trapped in hearth>ember realizes she's boiling wade>she tells wade to get away from her and stay as far as he can from her to slow down the evaporation>people outside getting to them is too slow>wade figures he's dead anyway, so instead embraces ember in his final moments, as he would rather die in her arms rather than prolong the inevitable>their physical touch triggers the leidenfrost effect, but rather than from just their hands, their entire body>this insulating layer reduces the heat transfer, slowing his evaporation>this buys more time and just enough time for the people outside to dig through the rubble and get to them, preventing full evaporationIt'd be more thematically relevant, scientifically cool, and doesn't copout with evaporation is not really death, which is kinda lame.
>>151950538>>151949789I unironically think the ending with Ember bowing to her dad and completing the tradition was a perfect ending. I don’t know what emotional core there could be for a sequel
>>151950512I'm surprised Elemental even made its budget back...
>>151951504They can deal with their mixed-race steam child or some shit.
>>151949789I forgot all about Elemental until this thread. I doubt Disney wants to gamble on another Elemental movie. Zootopia has already proven to be a money printer with Z2 being the highest grossing animated movie ever. Zootopia and Elemental are pretty much the same movies. An animal city and an Elemental city. And it just makes sense to make another Zootopia movie instead of gambling on Elemental.
>>151951504They have to stop a war between Light and Darkness.
>>151949789It will never not be funny when a bunch of /tv/rannies on this board were seething and coping and dilating about Elemental making it's money back and then some and all because they were assmad about a simple little message in a movie made for literal children:Good times!
>>151954727I mean Elemental isn't exactly subtle with which element is which race. Zootopia, you see latent prejudice with Judy that isn't warranted because they already set up that the prey/predator thing was a relic of ancient past. Elemental, they're a constant and current threat to each other. They just refuse to acknowledge the glaring reason why segregation is a thing in the elemental universe.
>>151949789This is one of the LAST Pixar films in need of a sequel.
I thought the main girl was hot.
>>151953528South Korea really liked it, because it's one of the few Disney movies where the character respects the parents, and that resonates with the Asians.Of course, being international heavy, breaking even is iffy, but we're assuming it did when Disney paid itself for the streaming license.
>>151956000Heyo!!
