Algorithm was kind to share this video with me. Jeffrey was so petty, lmao.

I'd like to see someone sentence-mix/AI generate Goofy's lines with Steve Martin just to see what it would be like.

I like the anecdote about the heart

Broken clock etc.

>Jeffrey was so petty
He's petty, but he was willing to change course, if not admit he was wrong, about the voice. That surprised me.

The idea of changing Goofy's voice is sacrilegious, but a small part of me has to acknowledge that he might have been right. This is what happens when marketers are in charge of creative projects - they don't think of what makes something good, they think of what they can do to market it. He probably could have sold the hell out of a Steve Martin-led Goofy, and gotten bigger short term profits, but ruin the long term legacy of the film. Maybe. Is Steven Martin still black?

>Is Steven Martin still black?
Stop making me want to see Goofy voiced by Steve Martin.

I remember in interview about his retirement Ron Musker said that working with Katzenberg was easier than with current Disney/Pixar executives, because then he had to please only one guy, not everyone in the room. No wonder current output is so stale.

"Death by committee" seems to be a pathological issue in the modern world; the logic is that more people will create more accountability or quality but instead it just means the whims of about 12 or more persons pulls an idea apart or nixes anything with bite.

so he left or was fired?
>>
>>151958330
He got the, "resign or we'll fire you," treatment.

I watched this the other day (having seen the animated segments), pretty cute, though personally A Goofy Movie never really touched a chord for me probably because I never had trouble with my dad.

I once was in a co-ed volunteering focused frat and putting aside all the women were ugly, near the end of one of the semesters, they had basically a leader who didn't want to be one and evetything was consensual voting and I didn't give a fuck. I was leaving. So the girls would constantly get stalemated and time would tick down. Eventually that chapter of the frat died. COVID didn't help. But yeah when people don't care for the product or for the other people they are working with, you will constantly see shit results.
