Scooby Doo is a long franchise created by Hanna-Barbera in the 1960's, and it’s wild to think how many different forms it’s taken over the decades. From the original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! with its classic monster-of-the-week formula, to the more comedic takes like A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, and even the darker, more serialized Mystery Incorporated, the gang has been reimagined countless times. We’ve had direct-to-video movies like Zombie Island and Witch’s Ghost that pushed the franchise into more supernatural territory, live-action adaptations in the early 2000s, and even crossover specials with Batman, WWE, and more. Each era has its own flavor, whether it’s campy, spooky, or tongue-in-cheek.So, /co/, what’s your favorite Scooby-Doo Character and which guest character suited the gang best?Previous Thread: >>151937486Scooby-Dooby-Doo!
My son watches this and I hate the one that has a "famous" guest every episode. Be Cool Scooby Doo is actually pretty fun. We don't have any of the other shows available.
>>151958356I'm not going fall for the meme of people saying that Be Cool Scooby Doo is actually good and art-style was an unfortunate hurdle forced on to the show. The art-style fits the show.As much as I like Mystery Incorporated, I felt the choosing "a dog over Velma" plotline was unnecessary. For my favorite character, it is Fred since he moves the plot forward; and for the longest time, he was the character without extremely overt personality. Usually people try to "fix" "bland" characters by making them assholes or making them "quirky". Fred isn't in any way normal but he has his own boundaries. He has a jockiness to him but he also goofy & friendly that I could realistically see nerds half his size bully him.I would like to see a Scooby Doo show try to do mysteries where it gives the viewers all of the clues to solve the case before hand. It is pretty bad when detective stories for adults like Knives Out are catering to turbo retards.
He was a wretch, but at least he loved Fred as if he were his own son.
>>151958749I would say that he is the first villain to be foiled by his own conscience but I think Velma dressing up as the mummy counts even if it was to protect the tomb from treasure hunters.
Make way for correct opinions. Scooby-Doo is at its best when it has a fully realized gang which solve mysteries in a moody atmospheric environment. The guest star series are just low quality across the board.
