Sunday by Olivier Schrauwen is the best Western comics I've read from this decade. It's too pretentious for this crowd, though.
>>
For those who don't want to bother with the link:
>A Righteous Thirst For Vengeance
>Absolute Wonder Woman
>Avengers: Twilight
>Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
>Assorted Crisis Events
>Batman: Dark Patterns
>Daredevil current run
>The Many Deaths of Laila Starr
>Fantastic Four: Full Circle
>Absolute Martian Manhunter

I do like Dark Patterns and Martian Manhunter. I have read Full Circle and one or two issues of Assorted Crisis Events, and while I thought they were neat they didn't leave much of an impact on me. Haven't read any of the others.

It's a pretty dire list. I wouldn't rank any of them above decent.

We should make a thread when the board is less unusable.

ADRASTEA, by Mathieu Bablet, July 12, 2022 - a more traditional mythic tale compared to Bablet's earlier Shangri-La and disappointing Beautiful Death
donjon Pourfendeurs de démons 2021 - Donjon is always a good laugh
Herakles by Edouard Cour 2020 French 2015 - I liked the style - it better depicts the madness and violence
Ion Mud 2021 - maybe a bit style over substance but it worked for me
Mirka Andolfo's Sweet Paprika 002 (2021) - always a good read
Swindling Indies (Les Indes fourbes 28 Aug. 2019) by Alain Ayroles and Juanjo Guarnido; scanlated 2021 https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/120466576 - best of the decade for me
The Cimmerian - The Frost-Giant's Daughter art by Robin Recht
The Court Charade 2022 - light hearted tale from kerascoet
Umberto Eco's Name of the Rose 2023 https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/140211906

A Righteous Thirst For Vengeance is pretty forgettable. Feels like a movie pitch.
Absolute Wonder Woman I haven't read much of, but it seems like an art showcase. The story is generic manga-flavored stuff.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is quite bad. The worst version of True Grit I've experienced.
Batman: Dark Patterns was alright. It's decent the way The Cult and Gothic are.
I gave up on Daredevil during Zdarsky's boring run.
Fantastic Four: Full Circle is an alright tribute. Another art showcase, really. Best Ross interiors I've seen.
Absolute Martian Manhunter has cool art, but it's in service of a lackluster story. Unfortunately, I think that's been Javier Rodriguez entire career. Camp is a letdown.

Here are mine, I'd also include the Yoshiharu Tsuge collections from D&Q but I didn't know which one I would choose.

My current favorites from this decade.
Zoc and A Frog in the Fall have a pretty obvious Studio Ghibli influence, but I enjoyed them just the same. They are very comfy.
Sunday, I read entirely over a Sunday. It was a religious experience. I plan to revisit all of the Schrauwen family comics (Arsene Schrauwen, Parallel Lives, Sunday), as they're all interlinked by fictional blood.
Land of the Lustrous is epic. I'd love more action series like this and Takemitsuzamurai (and No. 5) that have a unique art style; their own MO.
Tokyo These Days (center) is my top favorite so far. It, along with Sunday, revitalized my my love for comics after a prolonged slump.
Goodbye, Eri is quite moving and I just plain enjoy formal playfulness and cinema.
The Great Beyond ("The Great Void" in French?) is a visual feast with a neat gimmick premise. There's another comic from this artist I want to look into called Semi-Science Fiction.
Crickets is actually The Blood of the Virgin. I didn't think I'd like it, but suddenly I was on the last page. Pretty good. Reminded me of the way Jaime Hernandez did comics, but a lot more focused on its main narrative.
One Beautiful Spring Day is more Jim Woodring. Can't get enough.
