I usually make sautéed mushrooms as a savory treat, with white cooking wine. Accidentally bought white wine vinegar instead this time, and by adding heavy dill seasoning to the usual garlic/butter/salt mix, I have discovered that the sautéed mushrooms taste exactly like dill pickles.
