I'm speechless... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-zZqrdybGE
>>151980563Pretty good. Saw it the yesterday. Look forward to a show or if not a completed pilot.
>>151980563This was well worth the wait, would love to see more
>>151980563Really hope the dude gets to work on more of it.
>>151980563 by far the most promising indie pilot I've seen online. Really hope we see more of it in the future
>>151980563I can't believe Bill Watterson approved this!
>>151980563He's such a mischievous little rascal
>>151980563poor Guapo
Bill Watterson is rolling in his grave
>>151980563It's more serious than I expected but it's really good
>>151980563Caña Brava!Oh oh!
>Jorge's version of Hell is a better representation of Hell than Vivziepop's version of HellGrim
>>151980563Let the fanart commence
>>151982562Gyatt damn!
>>151982562
>>151982562now thats what i call, m o m m y - m i a
>>151980563When I saw the promotial art I didn't expected much of itWhen I saw the trailer I got interestedWhen I watched the pilot I got blown away by how good it wasEl Guapo and his brother's bond is very sweet Fun fact culon means big ass in spanish meaning the main villain is called Don DracBigAss
>>151980563at this rate, people in general will replace corporations for indie animations.
>>151983283Good.
>>151983215I feel like a fool for ever doubting Jorge. I didn't think the 40-min. runtime was necessary, but every moment in the El Guapo pilot felt carefully crafted and intentional. It's glorious
>>151983215Lol I didn't catch that>>151983290I mean most of his stuff is tame. On the sense it's for kids. Now that it's for adults, he can really shine in all hos glory. You can tell he was made for this medium. The dog is off his leash in all the best ways.
>>151982562Fuck, I wanna bite that beautiful brown butt so hard.
>>151982562I understand Shadow's love for latinas now
>>151980563
>>151980563LatinAuthor......
I dig it
Hope it gets fully animated. That was fun
>>151980563Who can realistically pick this up? Netflix still doesn't like cartoons. It has the right tone for Adult Swim, but I don't think they'd be willing to give it the budget it deserves. Maybe Glitch? But I don't see their audience of nuerodivergent, gay teens liking it all too much.
chola werewolf sexo
>>151980563>>151980592Gonna be honest with you, no mainstream studio is going to wanna pick this up. If we want more, this needs to go indieTHIS is the kind of shit the indie animation scene was made for
>>151986811>It has the right tone for Adult Swim, but I don't think they'd be willing to give it the budget it deserves.I think Adult Swim is the current best option despite the possible budget issueMaybe if the show gets merch and that sells well they will increase budget for the animation
>>151982562LATINAS!!!!!
>>151982637Lore drop
so she wasn't lying here?
>>151987226I'm sad we didn't get to meet her just yet, but I understand that a pilot episode is meant to have audiences wanting MORE
temeo dijo el barsinso
>>151990382There's something that scares me about the whole thing. It's the word pilot. As in this is if people want it. That's it is not a guarantee. This might actually be all we get. These charactertjatnare teased might just stay in the creators head. Meanwhile Big Mouth got 8 seasons.
>>151990510Big Mouth was good, though. This is just juvenile trash.
>>151990524>This is just juvenile trash. Not enough 13 year olds jacking off or eating cum on a cracker for you?
>>151987226Is this a finger pinch reference?
>>151983571I sometimes feel like this guy is basically the Mexican equivalent of a Black man doing Blackface.
>>151990710She throwing up gang signs
Honestly, this was pretty fucking great. With the only real gripe I have being the worldbuilding being unclear if the supernatural is common knowledge or not Other than that, I really liked this and hope it gets picked up
Good cartoon with hot babes
Mexopolis thread? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPNLGGi2crg
>>151980563This kid needs to drink more water
>>151990815I gathered due to the fact there's an entire secret catholic order to hunting down vampires that it's not common knowledge, and that the drug cartels in this universe were basically taken over by the vampires and monsters to explain how it's Tijuana is such a shithole by design in this universe
>>151990884>2007Huh, could have sworn it came out earlier, like 05 or something.
>>151990815Guapo was taken aback by the fact that the shifty little dude was still alive with a fuck huge hole in his chest. He also needs to be told explicitly that the cartels are run by literal vampires. I don’t think it’s common knowledge.
>>151991147I mean yeah, but he's also a dumbass
>>151990763He seems like he can have a good laugh
>>151991209Kek. He can be funny, I don't deny that, but sometimes he comes across as playing up the "Hey ese, I'm Mexican! Tacos, Lucha Libre, La Lloron ese!" to amuse gringos.
>>151990032Kek
>>151980563>hey bro mind if i copy your homework
>>151991602I don't give a shit what anyone says that had a good soundtrack
>>151990097Only to herself
>>151991602Why he grabbing his sister like that!?
>>151991034Right? I could have sworn I had memories of watching this back in 2004.
>>151990932It's Tijuana dude. You don't mess with the water south of the boarder.
>>151991398I think it's more to assage his own self doubt. Given some of his political takes, I don't think he's all that concerned with gringos.
>>151992798It's even weirder when your remember that incest was the one bit of degeneracy that actually made him dry heave.
>>151986811El Guapo be too spicy for Glitch. But you're right, I can't think of a major network that would greenlight this show.Maybe prime can make it work.
what is it about creators like Jorge and Genndy who just wanna make trash rather than something meaningful? this is just the height of egotism.
>>151992835For real, like I wanna say it came out around the same time as Avatar (which, looking it up, aired its first episode in Feb 2005).
>>151991602That was pretty fun, still can't believe Rob Zombie was behind it.
>>151990032>Lore drop But... we knew that already
>>151980563Anybody got any ideas on lobo loca is going to be introduce?
>>151987492This is one of the best-executed indie animated projects. A small team that came together, led by a guy who could already wear many hats, from writing to designing to voice-acting. They already had a great thing going, so it sucks that it all had to come to a screeching halt because no major company is buying. I kind of don't even need it to be fully animated; it already looks so good!
>>151993558Eddie Trigueros (El Tigre story artist) did the cold open in the strip club, Ian Higginbotham (ThunderCats Roar story artist) did José & Judas's backstory and El Guapo's fight with Mags at the very end, Sean Szeles (Regular Show artist) did El Guapo's bender and losing wager, and Gustavo Cosio (Maya and the Three) did the remaining 60% all by himself: José cooking the tacos, the rigged match, both brothers dying, and Judas escaping hell. That last dude's a powerhouse, not only for how much he contributed to the pilot but also for how PRETTY every one of his drawings looks. He should seriously look into making a graphic novel someday or something
>>151993558How much money would a project like this need to get off the ground?
>>151994117
>>151982562MADRE DE DIOS..
>>151995230>Joseph, Mary, Jesus, Mexicans am I right. Just the slightest of jokes actually get Mexican culture
>Good christian>Refused to get adopted because he didn't want to leave his brother behind >Become luchador alongside his bro>Help the orphanage he was raised on>Sacrificed himself to save his brother>Did it again by taking his place in hell>Punches demon scumEl Angel the absolute goat
>>151990763>>151991398so he’s like the less asshole and actually funny version of George Lopez?
>>151992991Decades of working almost exclusively in children's entertainment will do that to ya. But I'd say Jorge made a smoother transition to the adult animation space. El Guapo feels like a more natural elevation of his style of humour and don't you DARE compare it to the dog balls movie
>>151995809If anything that's the thing got me. Angel gave way too much. Same thing with Mary, she. Looked homeless when Guapp slipped her that roll of money.
>>151992991Dude wtf
>>151995809Anybody got that shot of him being Saint George defeating the Calavira Bros?
>>151996726
>>151996197Home is the family and she just lost her husband
>>151997515Gracias.
Is jorge still in favor of rainbowhaired commiefornians colonizing his culture and language or did he see the error of his ways?
It fucking rules. I'm a huge fan of Jorge's work, it's always so fun and gorgeous. Would love to see more of this, hope it isn't a one off.
A thing I'm hoping for in the series finale is that after killing Don Draculon and dying after it, Guapo goes to heaven and sees his brother there. Guapo cries about how he's finally redeemed and got him out, only for Jose to say that he got out of hell months ago
>>151987226Did she even appeared at all?
Bump because this needs more attention and views.
>>151999986No, a number of people would presumably turn up later.
>>152000700OP should've at least included the title. I didn't even realize this thread was for the pilot since it didn't show up when I searched the catalog.El Guapo vs The Narco Vampires (FULL PILOT ANIMATIC)
>>151995474>Jose Maria JesusAnd those three names belong to the same guy.
>>151991602rob zombie invented mexicans
>>151992991>comparing it to FixedIt was literally miles better and didn't build itself around a stupid premise that was written for kids. Fixed was quite literally a kids movie with childish sex jokes.
doctor nun a qt
>>152001874You are RIGHT and you should say it!
>>151987492so... how much should the kick starter ask for production? 50 million?
>>151995809I wanna see bro leave hell, he does not belong there.
>>151980563This is why Gutierrez is the GOAT. Fun ideas, dynamic characters, unashamed love for his culture, but without the sanitization, genuinely heartfelt storytelling, combined with childlike love for action and comedy.Studios should be fighting tooth and nail to get his projects made.
>>151990763The difference is that he's a real mexican who grew up and lived in mexico and saw all the of the best and worst it had to offer and realized he loved it unconditionally and sincerely.
>>151992991Gendy wishes Fixed was half as good as this unfinished animatic actually is.
>>152003337That's the pointHe literally gave up his spot in heaven because he loves his brother that much
>>151995809I get that el guapo will rescue him but taking his place in hells a bit much
>>151990510>Meanwhile Big Mouth got 8 seasons. That's because the creators father was pumping money into it
I would like for this to become a thing. but who knows if it can happen.
dont know if it could feature a segment of the Narcos recruiting kids by turning them into vampires, maybe sleeping agents, or ones that could get exorsiced to be saved, but also could just get killed in action with out any care.just like how narcos recruit the young with false promises.
>>151993558Reminds me of how good the Carmen Got Expelled pilot was at presenting Jorge & Sandra's vision despite there being no budget for full animation. They know how to do A LOT with so very little
>>151990382>>151993167>>152000768>>152000799he's gotta have some more shorts or something in the pipelineno way they don't introduce the other 1 2 3 4 FIVE characters they put in the intro
>>152003365The coolest thing about Jorge is how he stays so enthusiastic about the work he's making despite getting mistreated by literally every mainstream studio. 20th Century rejected his director's reel for being "too Mexican" only to greenlight Book of Life a few years later, Netflix cancelled his chihuahua movie only to get him back developing a whole new feature, and Warner Bros. killed his Lego movie but are now trying to make a Speedy Gonzales movie with him. There's no loyalty with any of these studios, yet he always gives it his all and delivers when given a chance.
