Since they had him respect Lincoln in the haunted house episode, and then separated Lincoln from his friends, and stuck with only Chandler, when they went to middle school.But putting Lincoln in a different class from his other friends served no purpose since they still conveniently hang out all the time anyway. Chandler kind of got reduced to a punching bag where no one in the entire school likes him when he used to be popular.

Lincoln fully expected to be invited to Chandler’s birthday just because he held the bathroom door open once 3 MONTHS ago, he was constantly kissing up to Chandler to boost his own popularity and take advantage of Chandler’s rich parents. Chandler clearly noticed this and only tolerated Lincoln when he got something out of it, whereas now he’s written as a one-dimensional bully who obsessively hates Lincoln for no real reason.
