Unironically, with his character gimmick, he could go hard in a more investigation/detective-themed Batman story.

“Batman having to unravel a mystery when there are no clues. But sometimes the lack of evidence is all the proof you need!”
Is what the blurb might say.

I don’t know if he’s meant to be a hero or villain (though I lean towards the latter), but with a name like that and his design, I presume his deal is that he can directly integrate with technology? If so, then you could do some real neat Roujin Z type stuff with his design, snowballing larger and larger Ashe integrates with more shit.

You a He-Man fan at all?
Remember Modulok? Remember his first comic appearance where his plan was to mail his body parts in separate packages to Grayskull and then reassemble himself inside?

Modular Man is the exact same deal with the same plan
He mailed his body in separate packages to a hospital where Killer Shrike was in a coma and reassembled himself to get past security.

IS he a literal who? I think he's like a JSA A or B- lister, which tbf is basically a D-lister for mainstream.
>>
>>
>>151986603
There's a whole ecosystem of these auxiliary baddies that would be interesting to do a series with if they were made slightly serious.
Like, as the canon stands now, the mob existed, essentially evaporated during The Long Halloween, got replaced by Batman's Rogue's Gallery and their respective gangs, who then got consolidated after War Games to all be under Black Mask. Making there be a whole layer of ex-mobsters who work to keep Gotham's underworld going would be neat. Like a reverse Powers/Gotham Central.

IIRC he was literally ripped off from an episode of Doctor Who (Mask of the Mandrago)

>>151986619

Johnny Sorrow started off as a meme character; a deceased Maris-type character who James Robinson created in Starman who he retconned into the lore of the JSA. We never saw him, on page in the present or even in flashback, but we were repeatedly told that he murdered a ton of Golden Age heroes and was to the JSA what Joker was to Batman, as far as being the absolute most dangerous villain in the JSA roster, whom people like Shade (who froze an entire city in stasis for nearly half a century), Ragdoll (retconned by Wagner into being a murderous cult leader and a rapist), and Mist (who Robinson changed from a murderous thief into a murderous thief who spent his days hunting down and murdering retired heroes from the 40s) all are deathly afraid of, even though the character even though he had not been seen since his final battle with the JSA, resulted in his apparent but unconfirmed, death.

We didn't fully see him until JSA launched with Geoff Johns making him a failed actor who stole a sci-fi belt that gave him intangibility powers. Wildcat IIRC, damaged the belt and caused him to vanish in an explosion: but he had been sent to a Lovecraftian horror dimension and tortured/empowered by "the King of Tears", who made him invisible and gave him a floating mask. So long as he wore the mask, he was invisible as his face had been disfigured so badly that anyone who saw it went insane, which is what happened to his wife. He then killed a bunch of a OG heroes Geoff created and Spectre could only exile him, he was so powerful.

>Johnny Sorrow started off as a meme character; a deceased Maris-type character who James Robinson created in Starman
No, he was created by Johns/Goyer and first appeared in Secret Origins of Super-Villains 80-Page Giant, which came out the same month as Robinson's last JSA issue (#5).

Johns and Robinson did swap a lot of notes around that time so Courtney and Jack would be portrayed the same in both Starman and JSA before Jack was taken off the team so any mention of Sorrow after December 1999 would've been from Johns' notes.

I kinda wish she had existed before the 00s
If she'd existed in the 70s or 80s, even if they didn't take her seriously, they'd have given her full issues dedicated to herself and given her some kind of backstory and characterization
Seems like villains like this get created since the 2000s to just be "point and laugh at how silly comics are/fill space in the background".
See White Rabbit and Spot. In the 80s they'd get be the main antagonist of stories.
>>
>>151997662
Spot at least is going to be the main villain of two Spidey films, and even though they initially played him as a goof he's getting decent characterization and is becoming a legit threat.
