onia is deliberately written as bitchy, whiney, spoiled and rich.She has super powers but she isn't disciplined. Her solo song is her complaining at length about having to go on an adventure. She likes to talk about shopping, her nails, makeup, dancing, going on dates, wearing pretty clothes, and gossiping with other girls.She is repeatedly objectified by the show. Sexually.She hates dirt. She hates getting her clothes wet. She hates non-gourmet foods. She hates rowdiness.She is not easily frightened, but not because she's brave or stoic. Sonic and Manic are both braver than her. Her sheer strength renders things that would be terrifying to her to just being disgusting.She has every possible stereotypical "Spoiled rich popular bitch" trait rolled into one with a side of Mr. Incredible.Her abilities and her voice are the only things that break the stereotype.Sonia is the "rich one" Sonic is the "normal one" Manic is the "poor one" and all of their character traits revolve around that comparison and all of the tropes surrounding it. Manic is the most subversive of the three.He has no special powers. He has to use a hoverboard to keep up with his siblings. He is an expert marksman and pickpocket. He has all the general dexterity skills.He isn't insecure about this. But he does consider that he might not add much to the team at first.He is nicer than both Sonic and especially Sonia. He has to warn Sonic to be gentler with Sonia (Sonic proceeds to make Sonia cry without a second thought).Manic is also the least intelligent of the three. The most easily scared. The warmest, and the happiest.He is also a habitual thief.
Starline was always intended to come back, I'm not sure why people are pretending that he didn't have concept art showing him as a zombie cyborg.IDW derangement syndrome posters will get mad and say this was an asspull, though.
