So...like...is the glove performing the authentication or are Batman's fingerprints being transmitted through his gloves to the scanner?

Either seems reasonable for someone of Bruce's caliber but why have a handprint recognition system if you're not exposing your hand? Surely there's a less contrived system that could be used...

It's actually a microchip implanted into his palm. treo.
Alfred installed it inbetween pumping the tires of the batmobile

Yeah, the hand print scanner is just a decoy for harvesting hand prints of people who tried to steal his shit. Like that, "This person tried to unlock your phone." security feature.

He has to pass a retinal scan to get to the handprint scanner.

Again, a decoy to collect retinal scans of people who would try to steal his shit.

The first time you use Simon Stagg's fingernts to open a door, you see the suit basically 3D project the handprint onto the glove. Couldn't tell you how that's supposed to work, but i assume Batman uses the same mechanism using his own handprint for his suit/gadget drops.

This. No one else has Batman's glove.
