I just recently borrowed a tablet from a friend and decided to make my first digital sketch ever a Rapunzel. Before this, I haven't had any formal training or practice and only used mouse/photoshop to draw. My only real experience is I see a lot of comics & cartoons. Tell me what you think, be honest so I can improve! I know a few things are off, maybe the head shape partially (I drew this in about 45 mins)? I know I have a lot to learn about weights and shading, not even touching on coloring yet. I'm going to start looking at real tutorials and art trainings to start to git gud for actual deliveries on /co/. Let me know if anyone has any tips for a very beginner!

Not just Rapunzel's head shape but her eye shape and hair shape as well. Remember that every single line you put down is a decision you make. I have heard some animators say a similar thing about the placement for shapes and lines, so I'll take that advice to heart. I also have to learn the tech of the Wacom tablet I'm using and the different Photoshop brushes/tools. If I get really into it, I might go for the iPad + Procreate combo eventually like my friend has. I know it won't happen overnight, but I'll keep practicing until I can hopefully get to the point I can take draw requests in different threads. It's quite fun being able to create things!

Using Rapunzel as an example her design is a lot more angular than you might first expect here’s a quick breakdown I did of what I’m talking about. Just started this, something I already really like is how Eugene and Rapunzel get to be a couple from the very start. So often romance in TV shows only get as far the first kiss between their flagship pair before it's time to wrap up.
