german/scandi artists from the 80s and 90s who drew whimsical and babyfaced looking elves / dwarves / gnomes inspired on 1800s-1900s depictions of trolls and german mythological beings. The originals were a tad uglier but the whole "droopy face and floppy ears" look was coined there.
