The villains in Tardi's strips weren't evil just because, they had reasons for being crazy even if they were flawed. Otto wanted to find a heir. Gelati and Jerome's uncle were fed up with being ignored. The dinosaur has no backstory that we're made aware of and just wants to wipe out humanity because he's mean.
