There's usually one or two people working on a project that's at least in early stages of development, but far enough along that any other indie project would be announce itself with a trailer or something. All threads are usually just self-promotion taking the absolute bare minimum of suggestions and feedback from anons, with a bit of memes and 4chan references sprinkled into the final product. That is usually enough to make people content with calling something a board's project.Bui when posted on /co/ it's usually started by someone incapable of completing the project entirely on their own, which at the minimum just means being able to draw a comic. As sad as that sounds, it means someone that could make it would be able to do it quickly, without needing any collaboration at all, so it quickly and obviously becomes a webcomic artist posting threads of their own comic here and gets told to buy an ad. But for a cartoon, the options are to frequently put out something that looks like shit like Murdock Murdock, or something that looks good but release very infrequently, either of which would need to be passion projects made basically for free. And very few people on /co/ actually have all the skills needed to make a cartoon entirely on their own, even if the voice acting was made with shitty text-to-speech like Tamers12345 videos.Board project threads on /co/ are stupidly made with actual need for collaboration, which destroys the project before it can ever start because there's basically nothing done when the first thread is made, random anons with no skills or commitment are recruited to work on them. The threads also quickly turn into drawthread requests with a few anons trying to turn someone else's project into their own (which is just their fetish) by samefagging to astroturf the changes, scaring away any actual help, and at best it's ruined by design by committee.
