I never actually watched pic related but looks like a waste of time. Should i give it a watch anyway?

I remember being kind of boring

Depending on how much of a dog person you are. Otherwise the only other reason to watch is saving reaction faces.

I hate this movie because I like the original so much.

What an original opinion. Not like that's rhetoric you're regurgitating to reinforce a memetic narrative.
>>
>>152032545
I don't think you'll get much ironic or so bad it's entertaining enjoyment from this, just watch clips of Dixie really is all I'd suggest and that you are better off watching Aladdin and the King of thieves

Its how I feel. All the direct to DvD disney films are flawed but this and Mulan 2 irritate me the most.

Depends. Does the hound get his brains blowen out at the end?

I think it’s pretty boring and in the “interquel where nothing important happens” camp

Yep, that's pretty much all Fox and the Hound 2 has goin' for it. The character animation overall is nice, though. That's something I can always appreciate about the 2000s direct-to-DVD sequels. The story might not be up to par, but you could always tell the artists tried their best to make something that fit the 'Disney Brand.'

That movie sucked ass and it's only good for that one scene. You know which scene I'm talking about.

>>152034970
The issue isn't just the animation, it's moreover the story and the narrative, the sequel taken place in the middle of the original storyline where both just met as cubs and another main focus was Copper attempting to join the singing band, that was not mentioned nor featured in the transition of the original plot as if it was retconned. Plus this film doesn't devolve with dark moments like the original, that turned off a few.

Only thing people there for Dixie because Reba voices her.
>>
>>152038481

I mean kids of that era were the target demographic of those straight to video sequels, so it makes sense that they have fond memories of them.

The book is pretty much a misery parade after a certain point.

Copper and Chief's ages are switched; Chief gets killed by the train, which is a more deliberate action on Todd's part..
Todd's mate and his kits are all killed.
Todd's next mate and his kits are all killed.
The Master accidentally kills a kid with poison.
Todd has a heart attack and drops dead while being chased; Copper nearly dies as well but is nursed back to health by his owner.
His owner becomes an alcoholic, is talked into moving into a retirement hire, and is preparing to kill Copper as the book ends.

Not a sequel (technically it got a sequel TV series that was a bit tamer but not especially bad) but definitely a "wtf were they thinking".

They made special note that they were getting rid of the sexism and racism of the original when making it.

I thought it was mostly unnecessary since the first movie was not that well liked or had people wanting more.

People want to see more Aladdin or Little Mermaid. They don't care to see more Aristocats or Fox and the Hound.
>>
>>152032545
I'm wondering what the next plan is for Disney to try and squeeze some more money out of the animated features.
>In the 00s they made direct release sequels to all of them
>Th the 2010s and 2020s they made live action versions of them

What is next?
>>
>>152032545
They made sequels to almost every one of their movies, and only like 5-6 of them are actually watchable at all.

It's pretty much
Aladdin 3
Cinderella 3
Peter Pan 2
Lion King 1 1/2
Little Mermaid 3
Jungle Book 2

Everything else looks worse than a tv episode, half the time they barely have any kind of a plot at all. Just characters sort of running around some and sounding weird since they never get the voice actors back.

Wasn't the Atlantis movie just taking what were supposed to be episodes from the canned animated series and squishing them into a movie?
>>
>>152032707
Fox and the Hound and The Great Mouse Detective are far more interesting in their scripts than most of the output of the Disney Renaissance from the 90s, except for the Musker/Clements movies of that era (coincidentally enough -or not-, both we're directors of Great Mouse Detective, and that movie was their directorial debut).

Belle’s Magical World often gets overlooked but imo, it’s the worst one out of all of these. Easy to confuse with Enchanted Christmas except much much worse. At least the Christmas one had a Tim Curry villain. Most unnecessary Disney sequels are at least sorta watchable on the level of a cheap 1990s saturday morning cartoon. They usually fail to live up to their predecessors obviously, but they’re only sorta bad and have a weird charm to them. Magical World just plain sucks and is legit hard to even sit through.
