As for Kyle's mech, I'm not sure. Off the top of my head it might be based on those Power Ranger spoof toys that Cartman wanted for his birthday in season 1's Damien, that Kyle was supposed to buy for him but got Ants in the Pants instead. But the design of the mech doesn't really look much like the dolls shown in the episode.
