Seeing my first catgirl and a cat girl in mecha armor to boot when I was but a wee lad in an 80's Waldenbooks was enough to fry my brain. I'm lucky I was too embarrassed to ask my mom to buy it for me or I'd probably be a weeaboo now.

>>152039584I'm surprised to see a Ninja High School thread on /co./I have a collection of some of the comics. I bought a big chunk of the set when a local comic store had to move locations. It reminds me a lot of Archie or Ranma 1/2. But Ben Dunn always had problems with storytelling. He was never that good at storytelling, and reading Kendra- he still isn't. A lot of NHS stuff is really just parody of various animes and comics. The problem with many of the Jeremy Feeple comics, is that Jeremy just didn't DO all that much. He was a character who just kind of shrugged his shoulders at all the ninja and alien stuff that went on around him. The series had a Hawaii arc with differetn characters and a different author- that I have, but never bothered reading. I did like the reboot with Ricky Feeple, it has more ninja stuff in it.

They had the first couple at my local library, but they had do a library share thing where they sent issues from other libraries to share, which I had to do to read more, and despite the librarian being a real cool guy and trying to help find more they were apparently just really hard to find. And I was like 9 so it's not like I had the money to buy them online or anything.But yeah, this series is pretty nostalgic for me.
Last thing I remembered was with the red ninja in another dimension.
It was good in the beginning when they parodied Ranma 1/2 and Project A-ko and other anime I was familiar with. But, as others have noted, they drifted away from that.Ben's art deteriorated, became cruder and seemed to focus solely on increasing girl's boob sizes. He still posts on DeviantArt as Dogsupreme if you're interested in that. His Q-anonish politics also began to annoy me. Is EVERYONE in Texas stupid?

The Terminator was parodied as "Kenterminator." And Jeremy's rich guy rival was a guy named Rivalson Lendo. Ichi-Koo is the Japanese girl who is after Jeremy and Asrial is the blonde skunk alien girl. Ichi-Koo is actually Jeremy's non-blood related cousin. The problem with the Jeremy stories is that there were SO MANY issues that didn't even have Jeremy, or Jeremy just kind of stands there shrugging his shoulders as stuff went on around him. Ben Dunn focused on parody and side-characters so much to the point where Jeremy didn't do much at all.

They managed to make a Warrior Nun show before NHSI think there is a "power ranger" homage characters in like the first 10 issues and Jeremy just basically stands around doing nothing.having a ninja girl / skunk alien girl chasing after a regular dork in high school could have been milked for a few years (in comics) before just doing homage/parodies of anime/western pop cultureI got a few of those "text book" collections and the stories are fine (though the print quality is really hit or miss) but Ben just does random stuff he likes instead of focusing on the 3 main characters.
