Wtf was nickelodeon thinking?
>>
Not saying the show is great or anything but

Adventure Time and Regular Show come out in 2010
Focus on two primary bro characters
Wacky humor
some toilet humor [mostly in Adventure Time]
was popular as all hell.

You can guess why Nickelodeon wanted their own "Bro" show.

Don't ask me if it was good I never watched this shit

FPBP. Nickelodeon were chasing a successful trend, it really is that simple.

>Don't ask me if it was good I never watched this shit
It was passable, but unremarkable. The fact that no one remembers it tells you everything you need to know about it.

This and Pickle And Peanut deserve to have a revisionist history instead of garbage like Breadwinners and Fanboy and Chum Chum

Sanjay and Craig creators saw other shows' toilet humor and must've taken it as a challenge the way they handled THEIR series

Personally, I feel it’s one of the better things Nickelodeon has put out in the 2010’s. I won’t say every episode is a winner but there are a surprising about of great episodes, mostly from the second and third seasons. Several of the characters are very fun to watch as well. I really favor Megan and Sanjay’s parents whenever they take the spotlight.

It’s really not as bad as many claim to be. You just have to watch the right episodes to appreciate it. It’s very reminiscent of Nick in the 90’s.

The show was like 15 years ago or something. Move on people.

It was Nick's Regular Show.

>>152057400
Can't really blame them when the world was actively chasing that trend (old games recognized for their pixel art, Scott Pilgrim VS The World became an underground hit, synthwave imagery was reaching its peak).

>>152057033
Tell that to the Loud House preds.
>>
>>152056794
I wish they keep producing making that show instead.
>>
I don't get how people could say Korra was bad when abhorrent repulsive shit like this (and Pig, Goat, Banana, Cricket) was airing on Nick around that time.
>>
>>152052187
It had more influences of Ren & Stimpy Show (even if the character designs here were hideous BobBurguer-esque inbreed mutants) and some of the underground comics, if nothing.
>>
>>152054406
>The fact that no one remembers it tells you everything you need to know about it
It had some fandom lately that considers the first season uneven, but the later two were great, if you listen to these people.
>>
>>152056198
I agree with the example of Fanboy & Chum Chum, but nobody likes Breadwinners, not even today (not to mention that most of the Breadwinners crew also works on fucking Teen Titans Go, so that explains a lot and more shame for that shitfest from Nick), and Pickle and Peanut was utter shit. Other than that, Sanjay & Craig wasn't that bad. It had episodes waaaay better than others, and some of the bad ones are quite bad and annoying, but in the good ones, they had some pretty damn funny moments, even hilarious.

>Pig, Goat, Banana, Cricket
>See the names attached to it
>One of the creators is Johnny Ryan
Yeah, no wonder it was hideous shit. The worst mistake that Nickelodeon (and Warner Bros.) could make was letting Johnny Ryan near anything that requires creativity and not being a 12-year-old edgelord.
>>
>>152058591
>Tell that to the Loud House preds
The key difference here it that The Loud House was actually a good show.
>>
>>152059946
Johnny Ryan's stuff is cool, but I didn't know who he was until years later. I was way more surprised to learn that Dave Cooper did work outside of PGBC, I actually saw The Abseence of Eddy Table long before I saw an episode of this show.

Fun fact: the Sanjay & Craig creators made a pilot with Adult Swim in 2020 but it never released.

They are currently making a second kids cartoon with Disney TVA for Disney Channel tho

Lol, you wish, The Loud House nailed much better and perfected the whole "90s cartoon throwback" vibe (at least in the first seasons) and has undeniably had a far greater impact on pop culture than S&C will gonna ever have.
