the BTAS empty-city thing carried over so the streets of Gotham are usually empty, but it wasn't because they couldn't animate extras it was because they were spending all the money on animating the cape, which was very expensive then

it's the weird choices. why is Alfred played by Ubu? why did they think they could advertise that the show would be allowed to have guns, knowing that the media will never keep its promises and will always manufacture more gun paranoia that makes you change it? why do a CG batman show at all?

making the first episode involve mr. pyg but literally ignoring everything about him from the comics was a mistake. i know it wouldn't be safe to tv, but why even include him
its almost a statement on how everyone in the show will be different but most of the characters are nobodies no one recognizes

Make no mistake, it was sent out to die. They put it in an utterly garbage timeslot and refused to advertise it. We're lucky the rest of it was eventually released.

because it's CGI and I don't want to watch CGI superhero cartoons. It's why I didn't watch that Green Lantern cartoon or the newest Spider-Man cartoon either. It just objectively looks worse 100% of the time. You want me to watch your show, make it a beautiful stylized 2D show with great animation. Not ugly blocky 3D slop.

Brave and the Bold was a very "meta" show, so I don't think it was genuinely engaging in Bat-wank so much as it was deconstructing it. Silver age DC was so off-the-walls that it was an environment where it made even less sense for a mortal in a bat costume to be able to stand toe-to-toe with every single threat faced, so the show sort of leaned into that. It's why we practically never saw Bruce Wayne.

Batman in BTAB was all about the myth and the legend of the cowl, rather than the man behind it. He was always prepared, always righteous, and always tried his hardest, which ultimately might be the most unrealistic concept of them all. But they explored it in an environment where it made sense. Fuck, in the musical episode, even the other heroes sing along with the villains about how much he irks them.

I enjoyed Katana as a change of pace when it comes to sidekick
Though I think her costume needed more than just standard black

I think its good, but it was very much just more early batman. It had a really good inter-episode arc but every show had that atp.
