So, who bails her out. Paul and Flash helped her out in the last issue. so who bails her out this time? Ben, Norman?

Or will Marvel let her win the fight on her own.
>>
Opponent leaves because a more important thing is going on elsewhere.
>>
>>152062043
That's lame. Does anyone else show up to help?
>>
>>152061423
How did paul know to leave the apartment?
>>
>>152061423
This image made me think something, did Stark ever built a Venom-Buster?
>>
>>152062233
Not needed. He can beat Venom easily with his standard suit of the time.
>>
>>152061423
It would be really funny if they killed her off, but they don't have the balls.
>>
>>152063034
Killing Mary Jane off is what they have been trying to do for decades, but she has been saved by her popularity. She has had intentionally malicious depictions to turn the readers against her.
>>
>>152062233
why would he need a venom buster? all you need for a symbiote is fire and sonics

>>152063077
this. I think it was Guggenheim who joked about how the other option besides OMD was Peter finding her dead in an alley after she was raped and murdered.
simple popularity has saved MJ but compared to how she's portrayed these days, going that other route would've been a blessing.
>>
>>152063077
>She has had intentionally malicious depictions to turn the readers against her.
Character assassination is arguably worse than her just dying to be honest.
>>152063159
>compared to how she's portrayed these days, going that other route would've been a blessing.
My thoughts exactly.
>>
>>152061423
Whitney gets super cocky and MJ exploits it to beat her. Most likely by ripping off Whitney's mask so that Whitney can add "I hate MJ because she's pretty to her reasons for hating her".
>>
>>152063214
She probably wears a mask under her mask at this point.
>>
>>152063159
Kevin Smith basically was offered ASM in the early 2000s when Quesada found out JMS was playing the long game to bring MJ back, on condition he end the marriage. Smith stated the only way to do it was Peter had to cheat on MJ/leave her for another woman ala Cyclops and pointed out that doing so would permanently turn everyone against Peter and destroy the character.
>>
>>152063225
No she doesn't as they've shown her without it, though never showing her disfigured face; just people reacting to it.
>>
>>152061423
Saved by a strong male character to reverse that one anon that's always mad about women saving men in comics.
>>
>>152063248
Ignoring when she was doing just that by having a rubber mask over her metal one, the important thing is being an adaption against an overused thing against her, especially for impersonation reasons.
>>
>>152063256
ok so who do you think shows up. the obvious choice is flash.
>>
>>152063334
Iron Man

(Honestly I was joking about all of this but really, MJ's brought up Tony twice in this book, and Masque is going to show up in the new Iron Man book. This is the last issue before Death Spiral so they need a reason for Masque to stop chasing Venom anyways.)
>>
>>152062233
Wasn't a buster but he built a special armor to deal with Carnage one time
>>
>>152063420
that would be interesting, i kind of hope she resolves the fight on her own.
>>
>>152063420
>Hey Iron Man, where were you when your ex-girlfriend made New York on fire for another week?
>Being a mutant ally.
>What about every other week?
>Dunno.
>>
>>152063269
Her face isn't disfigured anymore since she got a new face, she wears a metal mask just because she is insane as two-face's daughter now and to make people think she is still disfigured.

Whitney is full on schizo now.
>>
>>152063159
Marvel will eventually undo OMD, but that will only happen when the sales get really bad, the company is going under, books of long-standing characters are getting cancelled and employees sacked left and right, and they are desperate to stay afloat at least for a few more months.
>>
>>152063957
I genuinely doubt it. Brevoort famously said they'd do anything to stop a sales decline and jump onto anything to bring in new readers.
Meanwhile BND cratered sales with no reversal and USMv2 was overwhelmingly popular from day 1 and they decided the best thing to do was kill the entire line.
>>
>>152063894
Depending on if her protection against psychic attacks is subdermal or integrated into the mask, it is a legitimate concern. Plus the whole protecting your head thing.
>>
>>152063894
Consider 2000 to 2007 was probably at least a year and a half in comic book land, there should be a continuity insert story to justify how she went from "severely mentally ill, but moving in the right direction" at the end of the story to whatever Bendis decided to do with her.
>>
>>152064134
Venom or Mary Jane aren't going to hurt her face and Venom may either heal it because he can do it, but i see Whitney leaving this on "amicable" terms with Mary Jane but warning her that those who are too close to her may be her biggest enemy living in the same roof as her.
Also Whitney may also taunt Tony and Emma in the newest solo over her meeting with Mary Jane and Peter over how the AIM tech under her wing has put stark tech into shame Because of her new employee, being Paul..
>>
>>152065020
is that just a theory?
>>
>>152065020
they are not going to make Paul evil. they are not going to do anything that would rebuke thier previous choices that everyone hates
>>
>>152065020
Paul is the most pointless motherfucker ever. He just exists so every month there is a claim he is working for AIM or something, and next month he is hanging around despite allegedly being broken up.
>>
>>152065493
they've been broken up for a while now but he just follows her around like a wounded dog
whole thing is weird
>>
>>152065520
Plus the fact that we now got confirmation that Whitney somehow put a tracker inside her lungs, which is damn impossible unless someone closer to her did it and spied on her for a long time.
>>
>>152065493
>>152065520
>>152065566
>>152065403
Wasn't Paul suppose to have a bad day? didnt turn out so bad he got to move back in with his Ex. and be useful.
>>
>>152065639
if they put him in the movie they may be keeping him around until then
>>
>Turns Venom into diet Spider-Man instead of using what is interesting about Venom (understandable since the contemporary Spider-Man story isn't being very Spider-Man)
>Technically is doing work to fix Mary Jane (showing her actually working, recognizing she actually has family members), but is doing it at a snail's pace to the point Paul is still hanging around
>The alleged hook is a forced relationship, but the Venom symbiote feeling negatively about Paul is more prominent than the actual interactions between the two. "Not friends" feels like a nominal status.
>Crapton of references to comics that aren't in the Spider-Man/Venom sphere. Even the supporting cast is only about half people that should be here.
>Stale MCU Spider-Man jokes
>More or less plays the 90s interchangeable armor jackasses thing straight, benches the only one that had anything resembling a personality on their last outing
>Has the Death-Throws and Bluestreak as random encounters simply because the writer likes them
>Despite Doctor Octopus being a Spider-Man villain who Mary Jane should have strong opinions about, his key aspects are Superior Spider-Man induced PTSD and his bad public relations image
>A whole section that is just dedicated to being upset about Hickman taking a dump over Cosmic
>To say nothing about Venom intentionally having a less cool design than normal.

What a weird-ass comic.
>>
>>152066671
>hickman taking a dump over cosmic
What are you talking about? Sorry I only skim some previews of these books and really only read Ult. What did Hickman do? Oh yeah and add no She-VenoMJ to that list.
>>
>>152066906
To Imperial which broke down the alliances/general status that was in place for a lack of payoff. A Skrull from the Kree/Skrull Alliance that is a Captain America reference fights fighting symbiotes posing as Kree even gets mentioned "a big man with a big plan", referencing Hickman's usual writing tendencies which also applies to Imperial. The extent of this is mostly for "look, Knull will be involved later!" and interrupt a Venom/Madame Masque fight by having the ship land in New York.
>>
>>152065520
In-book, the breakup hasn't even really been that long. MJ's worn like 4 outfits since ANV 7. She literally wore the exact same clothes from ANV 7-10, so the day she meets Flash on the bridge, fights him in the street, fights Otto for the first time, dumps Paul, and he starts to look for a place is literally just one day.

#251 and #253 are the same day, and Flash sets up the coffee date for Thursday, which they keep... so it can't be more than a week. Paul's actually seemingly moved pretty fast to get out of there.
>>
>>152067534
Since he's a universe hobo, he should go join the X-Men. That is more their kind of thing.
