Most GF characters are pretty basic and plain, but fans love them, so they make up whole dramatic stories based on what’s on the show. And “mean girl suffering under parental abuse turned good by the male hero” is an easily lovable cliche.I like her and Dipper together because she’s the only girl he can talk to without spilling his spaghetti, and I think that’s something that adds to a character who’s frequently the butt of the joke.
>>152073931I liked Pacifica's design, but I do agree, it's something fanartists themselves usually improve upon. Indeed it feels like she's gotten lost in the shuffle. Alex's "true to himself" midget sized characters don't help. Like Pacifica's design would be 100x improved if she were slightly taller, but when Dipper+Mabel were made midgets it necessitated everyone else their age be so.
I like the idea of Pacifica being the more sexually dominant one in the relationship and maybe giving Dipper his first blowie
She's a perfection on the tsundere archetype. A balance of outward confidence, strong emotions, and inner fragility and conflict. Her strong emotions lead to stronger connections. Her outer confidence is sexy, and her fragility brings out protective instincts. Her ability to bounce back from bad things, and to trade banter tit for tat shows good emotional regulation. She drops the physical abuse of the tradional tsundere for barbed words, which is more acceptable, and leads into banter. Her strong opinions, well thought out sense of style, and sense of humor all add up to a high impact person, and everyone likes a person with strong impact. Plus her style is really hot once you age her up.
She and the main character had more chemistry in one episode then most animated couples that get together have in their whole show.
