Give me salmonpill on this franchise. Why does each movie keep getting more and more ridiculous? How deep does the lore go?
>>152083994i feel like they are going the lolcow route aka parooding themselves rather than paroding something else like dreamworks for disney. it's not far fetched to say that they will go back to their roots at some part of the franchise while gaining nostalgia points in the same run. Basically this: we need to see baby grown up
Signature look of superiority.
Ice Age was Minions of the 2000s

>>152083994Because millennials can't write good stories. Plus they definitely used early ai for the 5th one. The stories "grew" sideways, they forgot that humans are in this world as well. The dark yet comedic tone of the first movie was lost. Alot less improve from the voice actors, the directors seemingly did not give as much freedom as the first 3 movies.

>>152083994This is an alternate timeline where humans went extinct during the first ice age, which happened in between 1 and 2 and lasted an untold amount of time, with the characters in 2 being different ones that just happen to have the same name and species as the original cast. Now, i said 'first' ice age because clearly another one must have happened after all the movies, since Scrat(or a similar creature)eventually gets frozen during it, which can't happen given that the ice age proper ended with 2.
>>152086274>Because millennials can't write good stories.stop fucking blaming us for Gen Xers writing these movies you zoomer cunts.
>>152083994The fact the fourth (?) movie's plot is very similar to fanfiction I made when I was ten will forever haunt me
>>152083994First movie was the best movie. Quality went down with each movie. It all started when they added musicals & more characters to the cast.
>>152087685This. I actually rewatched the first one a couple years ago, and it's surprisingly pretty good. It's such a stark contrast in tone and grounded storyline compared to all the retarded sequels.
People don't care about ice age mammals as much as dinosaurs, so they weren't able to sustain things as long as Land Before Time could and just kinda relied on dinosaurs to get people's attention for sequels.
This is clearly a one-and-done thing that got several follow ups out of corporate mandate.
