Thoughts on this short-lived series /co/?
>>152092213The female acrobat was actually half snake the whole time.
It had a very cool intro song.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT3cl4GJIDs
Now that I've read all the stories I should try it.
>>152092213>short-livedIt was an old sydicated series that lasted 65 episodes; that's plenty.
>>152092213I thought he was naked wtf
>>152092213Good show. One of the few fantasy cartoons at the time that had episodic storytelling.
>>152092213There was also a live-action Conan show with the same name
>>152092213I miss watching this with my Nephew.
>>152092320It's amazing that a highly censored saturday morning cartoon was way better than a live action
>>152092213>Conan and his multiracial friends/co/ would seethe if this show aired today. It gets a pass because it was part of anon's childhood
>>152093750It would never come out today because boys don't get cartoons anymore. Plus fuck you I loved Spawn & Blade growing-up.
>>152092455I miss when literally everything had a toyline.
>>152092267It even had something of a resolution to the plot.
>>152092267>65 episodesThe minimum for such shows
>>152093909Lot of shows only got 13 or even less. Doesn't matter if it was picked up for the minimum it wasn't short lived.
>>152093909It got a S2 but everybody pretend it never happened
>>152093854>It would never come out today because boys don't get cartoons anymoreTo be fair we are getting a Heman movie. Too bad we had to live through nu Shera and Kevin Smith to get it. I want barbarian media to come back so bad you have no idea. Even I'd it's silly like Heman or serious like Conan.
>>152093750Read a fucking book you underage cumbdump. Zula was in the comic for ages. So you got one black dude who was an established character and a viking in a series about a world traveler. Quit looking to start shit on purpose.
>>152094003You just know Prince Adam is going to be a bumbling goof & all the cool moments are going to serve Teela's characterization.
>>152094041You can't trick me Skeletor. There are a few reactions from big fans and they said shit like this.>Lighter in tone that leans into a lot of humor but also has a ton of heart and action. Tons of Action! The character and vehicle designs are very faithful to the original toys Sword choreography is outstanding Sets and set pieces are fantastic Nicholas as He-Man and Adam is great and he also looks great. He looks the part! Jared Leto is...shockingly...great as Skeletor. He channels more of a duo of Tim Curry roles including Darkness from Legend meets the Rocky Horror Picture show. Skeletor's face is CGI Tons of Easter eggs and references to old internet memes. Reference to Highlander but I think it's more of a temp track since it was a sword fight set to Queen's Princes of the Universe.
>>152094068>Jared Leto
Sorry if thread goes too off topic with Heman stuff it's hard to not bring it up as Conan adjacent for me and I love all this shit.
>>152094016Still is actually. They recently brought him back for the Titan run.
Does Red Sonja have any good runs? I never hear people talk about her comics
>>152094492I read about half of the Dynmite series. It was okay. Red Sonja, armor bikini aside, just kind of is a harder character to like. Her personality isn't terribly consistent
>>152094715>Her personality isn't terribly consistentThis, In Gail Simone's run she's a completely different character.
>>152094743Yeah, I'd have to go back and read her marvel books and maybe the prose novels. She's fine more or less when she showed up in Conan's stories but the later books kind of just have her be whatever the fuck they want. It also really doesn't feel like it's the Hyborean age as we know it. Terms like Stygians and Hyrkania will show up but it all feels out of step with Conan. Dynamite also gets really quipy. I read the Scorched Earth trade on kindle unlimited and it's a life or death struggle against an invading emperor and it's constantly stopping to LOL GOOFY.
>>152094715I remember going on the site and seeing the cover for Dark Agnes thinking it'd be so cool, only to find out she barely had anything. I hope Titan can keep up the quality.
>>152092213Loved the opening song. The whole 'Star Metal just sends the Snake men to anpther dimension' thing was kind of contrived but I guess it was a necessity to allow the heroes to wield swords and other bladed weapons but not actually hurt anybody. Also liked that this was one of the few 80's cartoons that not only had good continuity but actually resolved the ongoing plot at the end.
