That episode aired in may 2010 before everyone was mindbroken by trannies, and Quagmire's dad was never even a character in the show before that. The fact that it was the entire conflict of the episode instead of just something that all of the characters accepted without question probably led to very little actual controversy. There's a different episode called Trans Fats where Peter gets a sex change that people hated a lot more. Plus it was funny when Brian threw up when he found out he had sex with a tranny.

No one cared, a few brief jokes but this was before Games done quick had dilation stations, the Ts in the LGB were not as vocal, hell I think the episode pre-dates that whole gender bathroom bullshit or it was damn near that time.Jokes were mild but overall barely anyone cared, it was just another lazy FG episode.

>>152097567The thing is, they really haven't been. This episode about Quagmire's dad featured the topic a lot more normally than anything else in the last ten years has. They weren't really known as screeching psychopaths back then. A parent who doesn't care will just give their crying child whatever they want to shut them up. I get the impression the same kind of thing happened here, and surprise surprise, if you give someone whatever they want, they will always expect more and more and throw a fit when they don't get it.
