Batman is meant to be a gritty noir detective and a dark, shadowy creature of the night, instilling fear into superstitious and cowardly criminals. NOTHING ABOUT HIM IS SUPPOSED TO BE "FUN", BOOMTARDS. You want "Fun Batman"? That's what Green Arrow is for.

Batman was originally meant to be more campy, and the gritty part of his character was a result of comic writers taking him in a different direction.

The Arkham games were honestly emblematic of all the worst Batman tropes at the 2000's and 2010's: ugly as shit overdesigned tech aesthetic, Batman being a complete asshole all the time, Joker being his fucking boyfriend, and the constant WHY DON'T YOU KILL THE JOKER, Harley was still really sexy and retarded but she was already getting too much prominence, Jason in general, ANNOYING AS FUCK AUTISTIC RIDDLER

They won't even let him be that anymore. He's just a dude in body armor that knows karate and occasionally stumbles onto the answer to a case.

Yeah, they'll call you a boomer or a child for thinking the man who dresses like a bat and uses neat gadgets to fight themed gangsters and mad science should have a bit of levity to it.

There's room for more than one take on Batman, no need to get autistic about it. How are they currently getting the gritty interpretation of their dreams and are still throwing tantrums?

TBAS will always be the gold standard for me, doesn't mean it's objectively the best. I'm not going to shit my pants if it's not everyone's cup of tea or even if we never get a version like that again. I grew up a Spider-Man fan, I've come to terms with suffering.
