Fuck, that explains so much. You have no idea how much it hurt to get into Gorillaz in 2013 and have this massive, super-emotional dive into their universe, wait with bated breath until 2017, and then get the antifa gut punk that was Humanz. Now Now was worse, and I disconnected entirely during Song Machine. I have a really distinct memory of talking to an animation student girl who was the daughter of a family friend about how disappointed I was by Phase 6, and she was talking about how Desole was the best song ever, and it’s a good song, but it’s not Gorillaz if no one gives a fuck about the nerd stuff.
