Why dont people watch 2d animation at the theater anymore?Sinbad killed DreamWorks 2d animation and Princess and the frog killed Disney 2d.
>>152112711The few that come out are too experimental, I guess.
>>152113430They should really stop pandering to frogs, they are the worst kind of internet user
Don't western audiences generally consider 2D for children?
>>152112711>because they don't make as many as they used to like The Day The Earth Blew Up >because the foreign studios that do make them don't have massive advertising and long theatrical runs like Klaus or Wolfwalkers>because the studios make them on pre-existing IPs like TTG or Simpsons and the theatrical runs releases still looks like shit>because kids would rather watch a 3D animated lego movie or Super Mario rather than an experimental film about dog anus >because there's a massive backlog of impressive animated features online for free>because boomers and adults don't want to go to a theater if they know there's going to be a large amount of retarded kids screaming and running around
>>152114425Which should be a plus, kids used to be considered a big market. But I guess governments ruined that market just like they killed saturday morning blocks.
>>152112711Home on the Range already killed 2D for Disney, Frog and Winne the Pooh were just the rigor mortis
>>152112711They stopped making it 20 years ago
>>152114511Which is a shame, 'cause DreamWorks was making stuff that could honestly rival even Disney at the time. Sinbad and El Dorado are fun action epics with a slightly more mature edge that feel alien in today's mainstream animated film landscape, Spirit stands out for its relative lack of dialogue and willingness to let scenes breathe, and Prince of Egypt is easily one of the greatest films ever made. I still like most of what DW puts out nowadays, but they never should've abandoned hand-drawn feature animation entirely.
