Why did you all hate Brad Neely's sketch comedy series when it was just him going back to his YouTube roots? https://youtu.be/8VBMFXaEW_8 https://youtu.be/Ell2k3_l_WA https://youtu.be/W9-YAgjdkss
>>152117396Doing youtube nonsense whenever you feel like it is a lot different than having to make a fixed number of skits to fill a runtime and get approval for broadcasting. Most of the sketches feel half-baked like everyone just said "fuck it, that's good enough I guess" meanwhile things like the Baby Cakes diaries are so densely packed with jokes in such short periods. I still like Brad and the Ulysses S Grant Audiobook felt like a nice return to form
>>152117396The pupils ruin it for some
>>152117396>no cool songs>no characters to latch onto >uncharming artstyle, linework is too clean, characters look drawn with a symbol tool >just obnoxious It's shit
I liked it
I disliked it
I neither liked it nor disliked it
>>152117396The band of schizos was funny but the rest just wasn't memorable and catchy like his YT stuff. I can recite Whopper and a Forty to you right fucking now, but I couldn't even describe a skit to you off Harg Nallin (besides the schizo band, who were cool, and I just remembered while typing this was named Fruit Blood)
>>152117396Because his art style is another "it's bad on purpose, laugh you assholes" shitfest like Problem Solverz
>>152117396Because it wasn't very good. I love Brad Neely but it was during a time when Adult Swim had this brand new initiative to hire more diverse writers rooms, so a bunch of the writers on this and their other shows were brand new and everything became really amateur for a few years as they trained in new people.I think if he did another show *now* he'd have a much better time of it.
>>152117396You reminded me Pony exists. I should draw her.
>>152118586>>152118727>/co/ finds the Brad Neely China IL style "ugly" now This place continues to disappoint me
I only got $5.45 and it's 5:45~Gonna get a Whopper and a 40 and ride~
>>152118792People liked this style before? It reminds me of corporate art.
>Sunlight. Harry could almost cry at this simple gift of the universe. If it weren't for these awful people, he would cry. But he must not show weakness or else they'll hand him his ass.
>>152118792>BLIG BLUG'S GLUP SHITTIO, every Wednesday at 10yeah I don't know why the promos ensured I never watched it either
>>152118815Was that Queeblo?Be real, how many of you envied him, even just a little?
>>152117396I liked Sclopio Peepio well enough, but you can tell it was TOO MUCH for one man to come up with on his own, so half of it was like..well, like Interdimensional Cable 2. He's just tired, he's throwing shit at the wall and saying 'good enough.'still,>I stayyyy nakedis etched into my brain forever.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AC1KQOJwqn8
>>152118586funny, most of this also applies to 'Histeria'You got great creators together but because there's no characters or stories, none of it sticks.
>>152118901RIP Hardcastle McCormickTruly her voice was as chilling as a piano made of frozen windex.
>>152118586Even worse, its a sketch comedy without a unifying theme, or an original approach to humor, or a variety in art styles.
>>152119955>unifying themeindeed>original approach to humoreh? it's pretty original>variety in art styleswhy would a sketch comedy show have a variety in art styles?
>>152120194>eh? it's pretty originalHow? It's basically Robot Chicken.>why would a sketch comedy show have a variety in art styles? Why not?
>>152120219not seeing much in common with robot chickenthough I will admit, I remember little of this show. but I don't recall it being a bunch of 'remember that show? wasn't that fuckin weird? What if they talked about balls and buttsex'and I say that with the greatest of respect for the first like 8 seasons of robot chicken before it kinda went to shit.>why notanimation doesn't work that way. unless multiple separate studios are working on it, which... that might be pretty cool actually. something like Jump Cuts
>>152118792God Pony is banging.
>>152120324>animation doesn't work that wayYou guys say stuff and reality disagrees with you
>>152120339pony's fuckin hot as shit. and i love her name. I'm naming my daughter that if I ever get laid.>>152120371never seen or heard of this show but i guarantee it's not just one guy
>>152120194>why would a sketch comedy show have a variety in art styles?Because fuck you, and I'm counting this since most skits were trying to be humorous.
>>152120404>never seen or heard of this showwhat does your ignorance have to do with my point?
>>152120433in order to argue that your point is obvious, your examples have to be well-known.otherwise you couch it as "you may not know about it, but there's actually a lot of examples to the contrary, and here's one of them"don't ever squander an opportunity to do that, it's one of the most satisfying things an intellectual can do. It's all the glee of talking down to someone, with the satisfaction of actually being helpful.>>152120406was that one done by all one guy?
>>152120404I want to draw her. She seems like a lass who would wear a sagey green one piece.
>>152120480>was that one done by all one guy? That's not relevant. You said sketch comedy can't have a variety of styles and I proved you wrong with 3 examples. Here's another one.
>>152120525alright anon, you got me. I left out "made by one guy"Most sketch comedy of a live-action sort is made by one small group, so it's all in the same sort of style, or at most, a few variations on that style. You certainly have the odd Terry Gilliam doing his own thing, or what The Simpsons was to Tracy Ullman, butin terms of animation, an animated sketch comedy show is going to either have all the same art style, OR, be an anthology of different animators . like that upcoming whatsit with Pen Ward and pals.
>>152120520Wrong you are
