I feel like at this point someone genuinely needs to ask. What is up with redheads and being hypnotized in cartoons? Who’s responsible for this
I am.
It’s a good thing to put in
>>152130671Its hot
>>152130671Is it really that common a thing for redheads? You sure it's not just that hypnotism is common in cartoons? Or at leats was for a while.
>>152130671Which other red heads have been hypnotized? I literally can only think of Sam from totally spies.
>>152130747lol
>>152130671Daphne Blake.Last thread noted that redheads are the most visually striking and used hair color for women in animation and just lucked out in the best and most memorable hypnosis scenes. There’ve been tons of hypnosis scenes of other hair colors, Medulla with WW and the Wonder Twin, Herculoids mom, She-ra, tons of scenes with hypnosis of blondes and brunettes, but not many that were as memorable as redhead hypnosis.
>>152131311It’s a shocking number of redheads
>>152131311Sam from Totally SpiesKim PossibleApril O’neilDaphne BlakeWilma FlinstoneTeelaGalaxy TrioBasically a lot of Hannah Barbera and CN/WB gals with red hair(plus a few others) got a lot of hypnosis scenes, but the ones that had big special effects hypnosis scenes were the redheads. She-ra herself was hypnotized in her show, but a redheaded side character is more remembered for being mind controlled than the main character.
>>152131961No Pepper Mills?
>>152131977Honestly? Maybe, who knows? The point I’m trying to make is that a lot of women have been mind controlled in cartoons, but the ones that have scenes that stick in the imagination were redheads. Clover got mind controlled from totally spies, the aforementioned She-ra did too. Shego was the focus of the mind control in they mindchip episode of Kim Possible. But the focus scenes and the sparkles and the girls where the scene that ~lingered~ were the redheads. The ones that showed them as peril or victims were redheads. It could all be a huge coincidence, sure, but I don’t really have any other explanation as to why these scenes stick in the gestalt over the many Barbie mind control scenes, the tons of blondes like Melody or Tara, Spider-woman and Wonder Woman for raven-haired gals, Elastigirl for brunettes for more recent things. There’s a billion in representation all across the board for all hair colors, but redheads just seem to float to the top for scene quality and memorability.Redheads just stick out, I dunno.
can we clam this as a hypno thread
>>152133030Just drop your two Moana pics already
Controversial statement for here I know. I only like it when adult women are hypnotized
Has /co/ and 4chan in general really devolved so much that there’s now a dedicated functional hypno-gen thread?
>>152133680Hypnosis is actually a fascinating method of characterization and exploration once you subtract the sexual context And there have been weekly boob threads for years
>>152133736I guess. You have actual freaks like Daphne and Sam who actually get off on it.You have Stephanie/Batgirl that have this innate daddy-issue need for structure and violence. You have Cattra I guess that shows some deep seated anxiety and safety/fight/flight trauma.Wonder Woman with her submissive tendencies and trust issues. She falls for care ethics hypnosis, or I guess the better term is her care ethics being exploited (Dr. Psycho, Bruce with some of his contingency illusions).Mowgli and Shanti both wanting comfort is telling, not sure if that’s just because they’re kids or some deeper underlying psych(noteable because Bagheera was purely overpowered and zonked, unlike Mowgli and Shanti who were seduced by Kaa.)It’s good when it isn’t “Zap, your brain is fried!” But unfortunately that’s a lot of it.
>>152133810I find it’s more so that what forms of hypnosis and mind control the characters respond to reveals things about their character. Pleasant/pleasurable forms indicate a desire for comfort, oppressive or direct control can imply a need to follow orders or a desire to lose responsibility or control. Guilt and sadness based forms of mind control like in KPop Demon Hunters showcase deep insecurities and how the characters are controlled by them
>>152133906If we’re going to psychoanalyze people, that’s prob why Kamala goes under for “overpowering” mind control that she might have been able to get out of, because she’s getting the relief of not having Pakistani daughter responsibility or guilt. Better to be blameless.
>>152131961Redhead stereotypes fit the hypno fetish. Characters who get designed as redheaded women tend to be independent and passionate. The power of hypnosis is emphasized by making the strong-willed characters submit.
>>152134312Yeah, that adds to the mystique for sure.
>>152130671>>152131961Can we have guys please?
>>152134074True. Plus she’s put a lot of pressure on herself by signing up to be the next Ms. Marvel. And she keeps ending up at ground zero of big events
>>152134496Mostly because it makes sense to work out that way when writing and designing them whether or not they have the character’s appearance in mind during the hypnosis scene.
>>152134515This actually reminds me. Do you ever think about how Superman gets frequently mind controlled but his pleasure and comfort is never considered. It’s never comfy, it’s barely a seduction, and the end result is never even fun. Batman and the other male heroes sometimes get taken on dates and used as hypno arm candy by femme fatale villains, but never Clark. With him it’s always punch this guy, rob this bank, take over this country, or become my general or bodyguard. Nobody ever wants to give Superman comfy hypnosis. They only ever see him as an obstacle or a tool
>>152130671Favorite method of hypnosis?
>>152134580That’s where you lose the thread. Many of these shows only have redheads as main characters so any peril stuff defaults to them anyway. I agree that seeing the “fiery redhead” trope go into a trance is hot, but the show writers don’t go around thinking about that specifically and going “oh, we have a redhead. We need a mind control episode” or anything of the sort.>>152134593Superman gets a lot of lame flying brick commands, but Batman isn’t getting that much better when he gets controlled. He’s seduction controlled when he’s Bruce, not the Bat.Unless I’m misunderstanding your post.
>>152134692I mean Batman at least has his time as Bruce to enjoy comfy hypno. Clark Kent is seen as too inconsequential to do that to, so Superman never gets a comfy trance
>>152134692No, that’s what I am saying in both comments while engaging with the specific thread topic. That design archetypes naturally work out to some types of characters and types of situations having some probabilistic overlap without and special relevance from a writing standpoint.
>>152130671I think you have confirmation bias as a rainbow of characters both male and female have faced hypnosis.
>>152134593He apparently was subjected to a pool that made the person in it feel so good they never want to leave, and brought it back to his fortress of solitude for occasional recreational use (with a buddy spotting him, of course).Lois used it for Catwoman's Bachelorette party.
>>152134887
>>152134887>>152134900When nobody else is willing, sometimes you gotta do it yourself
>>152134739While a lot of fetishists like myself do sometimes suffer from subconscious biases, sometimes characters do seem to be magnets for mind control or hypnosis and it's not clear why.Kamala Khan, for example, is controlled much more often than her contemporaries. Popularity probably plays a part, but Miles is arguably just as popular and hasn't been controlled nearly as often.
>>152135092Which characters do you wish got hypnotized more often? For the sake of equality let’s list a male and female character
>>152135501NTA, but…Whatever characters look feminine/twinky. As long as I can imagine them sucking on or riding my dick, I’m here for it.
>>152135501I'd say Miles and either Lunella or Peni. Miles in general is a cutie who needs more kink art, any kind of kink.
>>152135655>>152135501Hell, why not that new trans kid? Featherweight? Trans kid to Trance kid lol
>>152135729I need to see her in a different artstyle. She cute enough designwise, I just don't like this artist.
>>152135762I’m down for that realistic look with some masculine features, but I bet Featherweight lets out some pretty girly moans under trance with my cock performing prostate massage.
Nonbinary, not trans, but Venture is cute and could use some hypno art too.
>>152135762>>152135785I like the hoodie but I’m not super sold on making her costume based on the trans flag. The pink is fine but I want to see some of her Al Ghul heritage mixed in to the color scheme
>>152135762>>152135729Does Marvel have any cute trans girls? Because DC has two so far.
>>152135879Cute? Dunno. There was ~a~ transwoman in the horror Hulk run but I wouldn’t call her cute by any means. Everyone in that run looked worn down as fuck
>>152135879DC is a more hopeful universe so heroes who are a part of minorities are usually cheerful and friendly. They’re also friendly in Marvel but they’re usually more cynical since 616 is literally a cyberpunk dystopia where the government regularly employs killer robots and most of the heroes and villains are owned by megacorps
>>152135879>>152135913>>152135941Marvel has a cute trans lady who is also a hypnotist.
>>152135952Man, if it’s traditional hypnosis, then my boner is gone no matter how much hypnosis she pumps into me. I’m not down for sad sex. I’ve lost enough partners from ED when I’m sad.
>>152135952Someone ought to put her in a happy trance
>>152135973Yeah, she makes people sad. Not the best example.
>>152135941This is a good point, yeah
>>152136014>>152136004>>152135996Well we’re talking about trans characters to put into a trance so she counts.
>>152136020There's also Escapade
>>152136041There’s probably a handful for sure, joke characters and serious ones. But I get the feeling the joke character trans people are more attractive than the “serious” ones at Marvel
>>152135941Your comment reminded me of the Boys. Fun fact, there’s a manipulative hypnotist character in Gen V and the entire second season focused around a mind controlling antagonist. Neither are ever used in a sexy way.
>>152136166Yeah, the Boys is such an abjectly miserable universe I can't imagine any appealing sexual situations with those characters. I saw Starlight bimbo art once and just felt sad.
What is it about woke characters that makes them perfect hypnobait?
>>152136172Yeah. Pretty much everything sexy gets ruined in that universe. That’s why I like Gen V. Marie and Emma are working overtime at the hopium factory
>>152136175In general? Most folks, here at least, like their hypno porn playful and tropey. See the discussion regarding The Boys and how unappealing any storylines are because the universe is so sad and cynical.Woke characters are meant to be hopeful and inspiring and positive. They haven't gotten a lot of the rough stuff foisted onto them yet. So when they're hypnotized, it's generally playful and cheerful, or at least not full of abject misery.
>>152136210I can agree with that. There’s also the funny pun related reason. It’s funny to make them go from woke to asleep
>>152136175I don't know what >>152136210 is talking bout, but hypno is (usually) best when done to a-hole characters.
>>152136374Making assholes nice and smiley does have it’s appeal
>>152136107Joke characters in general are usually either sexy or ugly with no in between
>>152137274I choose to believe that Shego used ever ounce of willpower she had to intentionally phone it in
>>152134887>>152134900This needs to come back
>>152130671Clearly someone at Hanna Barbera had a type
>>152138254Nice
>>152138254He probably isn’t doing anything. Kamala is just getting a contact high out of imagining going under
>>152138615How long before daydreaming is enough to entrance her on the street
>>152135952Is her power that people just feel bad for her
>>152140365Sympathy fishing is a procession
I want more angry, entitled, demanding hypnosubs
>>152140906Daphne is perfect because she’s rich enough to hire a professional. She knows what she’s worth
>>152140906They deserve the best. Why not demand it
