This movie almost feels like controlled opposition. Making the modern association of an important work of literature, that very much applies to our current societal rot, this basic, strawman-esque version of itself feels like a way to discount the ideas the original text put forward to the younger generations who are growing less and less likely to actually engage with or even read the story.
