Now that it's been 5 years since the dust settled, how was it?
>>152143139Not really all that funny, kind of boring, and I mostly lost interest and dropped the series about halfway into season 2. Repeating Bender jokes over and over again with the entire main cast is dull after a while.
>>152143172I didn't like how characters changed. These shows live and die by their strong cast staying the same and everything resetting after the episode ends.Take the queen for instance: she was a kino character at the start, but then she turns into a pirate...? Okay she's a fucking pirate now I guess, so her entire original dynamic (which I liked) is gone forever now.Same for the rest of the cast.Trying to tell a long story didn't work. Also Matt Groening can't into drama to save his fucking life, minus some exceptions in Futurama with Fry and Leela (I always thought the drama in The Simpsons was forced as hell).Add to that the fact there's LGBT shit being taken super seriously and the "deep" and "serious" moments fall flat real hard
You know how Futurama was clearly made by a writer's room that'd seen every piece of sci fi media ever and adored it? This was made by the Producers Who Saw Shrek
>>152143139Shit
>>152143139It had potential, but it really drains out all the hype when it's obvious they're just pulling a serial plot from their ass with no plan. This could have been great if pure episodic.
I'm glad that it died because we don't need another show that could last 30+ fucking seasons.
*unsettles the dust*
>>152143139Had potential but was approved based on pedigree more than anything else. Main cast didn't click with a lot of people, both Bean and Lucy felt too much like Bender. Was more episodic and low drama than initially billed and they instead would speed run what story they had at the start and end of each season.
