Those first 3 seasons are a completely different writing team and they're one production order of 65 as was the style of the time

Rugrats got huge in reruns and Nickelodeon started to realize Nicktoons was working but by the time they ordered new seasons the main guy who had co-created the show, the guy whose baby Tommy was based on, had left to go make Recess

Yes I understand the writing crew left, but at the same time it seems like most series get absolutely transformed the further along it goes.
They try to reach a bigger audience but dumb it down in doing so.

the creative juices run out, the jokes become horses in the glue factory, the life experience is spent, what you had to say has already been saidened, and new blood from new writers just isn't enough to revitalize an entire series orelse it becomes a different interpretation or entirely new flanderization character.
