Chapter 101: Page 21Something connected-------------Hey! Did you know there is a Gunnerkrigg subreddit? I'll be doing an AMA there on January 18th at 11 AM EST! That's plenty of time to think of questions you might have.https://www.gunnerkrigg.com/
>>152148200so now they'll figure out that "double it and give it to the next guy" is her power which hopefully wraps this up quickly.
>>152148200https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXE8LdXzeHM
>>152148200Same energy
what question should we ask tom?I want to know what omega was doing after she moved into Carter's house
>>152148251More liek
>>152148297She was doing spins on that thang.
>>152148200 We're seriously doing battle shonen now? Kat is still not dead.
>>152148200So will Noa actually do anything or is she just a glorified barrier
>>152148430If she did something, then something would happen and that's not allowed.
>>152148430If she can redirect the punch she could have direct the fire back to annie (or Kat for that matter) but she didn't. So she's not there for murdering, just as tank.
>>152148430We need several pages of her posing and characters explaining fighting moves that we already understand first
She still needs ground to stand on. Just cast「Brazil」.
>>152148528Annie and Kat are clearly out of her range, or something to that effect. There's no good reason why she wouldn't have grabbed Kat by now, except if A: She couldn't or B: grabbing Kat would leave her vulnerable.I'm tending to B, personally, because if range was the only issue she could just move forward.I think the Noa we see isn't real and instead a redirection of light and that's how she's able to attack out of nowhere and tank fire blasts and Parley hits. Conversely, Annie and Parley think they are hitting something because Noa redirects their attacks somewhere else. She still couldn't grab Kat until now, because she'd have to have gotten past Parley, who was in her way. Parley could have sensed her if she had tried to run past or intercepted her accidentally.I'm not sure this is correct. It doesn't FEEL correct, but it would explain the way this 'fight' has gone so far.
No one has any decent questions for Tom or are you all too stupid to think of one?
>>152148563https://youtu.be/A_7ATU9dslE?si=iwPMwahaEtMyNXNZAh, yes! Cast emotional damage! She won't be immune to that!
>>152148592I'd ask him to justify killing off the twin Annies.
>>152148607And Omega, frankly.I'd ask if he really is doing those things to keep Annie locked in eternal misery, because if that's the case, at least I would... Understand.
>>152148592Most of what I want to know would be too rude
>>152148592I don't have a reddit account (Phew) but if I were a redditor I'd ask>Is there anything you would have told your past self before making this comic?>Favorite location/background/architecture to draw/write/plan >where do you draw your inspiration for fashion the characters wear?
>>152148619Yes! Please don't be rude or crude with an attitude!
I'd probably also ask why Anja isn't helping her daughter with her current witch problem and/or what Anja's position in the court's apparently vast witch coven is (even though as far as I know witch covens traditionally were not allowed to grow too large and would have to fragment if new members wanted to join beyond a certain number) and why we've never heard of it before.
>>152148297And does Tom think that Omega ever learned why she couldn't predict Annie and/or that Omega was happy with simply meeting Annie. Does he think Omega's death is justified, from a storytelling perspective? Does he not regret killing her off? And, as far as the actual canon of the story is concerned, did Omega not deserve better? As far as we can tell, she helped the court reach the most ideal future. Is this assumption correct, objectively? Is it correct only subjectively from the point of view of the court? Is it not correct at all? If it is correct, does Tom not think she deserved a better ending to her story?
I bet Noa isn't here. Her body is a shriveled raisin hooked directly to a power source, what they are fighting is a projection made by her mega symbol.
>>152148707you know, that'd be pretty cool
>>152148707I think Noa is here and she's a huge hulking muscle girl and she's actually standing about 10 feet to her right, where Parley was hit from.
>>152148715So... like displacer beast?
I'd also like to ask Tom why the mythological creatures in this story are only so very loosely based on their real world myths. Are their myths in the world of gunnerkrigg court more accurate to their real existences? Like, in the real world's mythology, for example, Brynhildr dies in all of her different stories. Brinnie also isn't at all like the 'real' Brynhildr. Does this mean that the myths in the setting of the comic which conjured her are very different from our real world myths or is there something else going on that defines these characters' personalities and history?
>>152148740Yes, but even sexier.
>>152148200>she's just standing there>menacinglyholy FUCK this trope makes everything boring
>>152148317more like
>>152148844No idea who that is or why he's like Noa.
You know the "burn all the oxygen around her" strat, while pretty gruesome, seems unironically like the right play here.
>>152149009He has redirection powers.
>>152148297>what question should we ask tom?I think swords are neat, do you think swords are neat?
>>152149037Not if Noa isn't where they think she is.
>>152149111But what about dragons?!
>>152148592Can he play us a little ditty on his banjo?
>>152148200And now we have devolved into Dragon Ball Z shenanigans. ... Sigh.
>>152149250Honestly, it is very silly that there are no real dragons in this comic. Dragons are probably THE most famous, iconic mythological creatures. I suppose it makes some sense that no dragon would want to live in the forest and be subservient to Coyote, but why are there no dragons living in the court, like the Rogat Orjak? There's got to be at least one dragon in the world who is interested in scientific progress and from what it seems, the court is the foremost collection of scientists in the world. That could be wrong, though. Tom's said that after this comic's done he'll want to do further comics in the same setting, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
>>152148200GET ON WITH IT
>>152148592I have a question When are you going to stop dragging this shit outShit or get off the pot
>>152148200>enemy aura farming while allowing the others time to figure out what her power is and ultimately how to counter it
>>152149375Please don't ask rude questions!
>>152148297Are Loup and Lana aware of Zimmy's shenanigans or is she keeping them against their will?
>>152149450And is Zimmy a divine/diabolic entity?
>>152149503Or rather 'Is Zimmy a being from our real world mythology?'
>>152149375>fight over in one page>people complain nothing ever happens>fight takes more than one page>people complain over dragging things outIt's just a few pages, you could read them in seconds if the release schedule didn't distort your sense of time.
>>152149522I don't think anyone's complained about the pacing being too slow in a long time. In fact, if anything, Tom is rushing things he really shouldn't rush. People are complaining about the stakes and tensions in this fight, which is entirely different. Noa appears to be an entirely undefeatable foe, which is a big problem for a couple of reasons:Why didn't Noa just kill Kat instead of Jack back when he was wailing uselessly at her?Why isn't Noa killing or at least grabbing Kat now?If Noa is truly as powerful as she is portrayed, her eventual defeat will need to be reliant on some stupid deus ex machina or other plot convenience.
>>152149588Or she just has some weakness that makes her a good barrier but not great at offense.
>>152149588Forgot to mention:Noa being bored by the fight makes it feel inherently anticlimactic. It's not exciting to read, no matter how many pages it spans.
>>152149610>Noa being bored by the fightis she?
>>152149605She threw Parley into the ground so hard that it left a crater and gave Parley, warded out the wazoo a bloody nose without so much as lifting a finger. She should be able to kill Kat in less than a blink of an eye.
>>152149623*Looking* bored, then. It doesn't make much of a difference to the reader.
>>152149629Perhaps the witches are more aware of Kat's godhood than other characters and don't want to leave it at just crushing her body.Someone being able to teleport, operate at superhuman speed and create green soultrap fields that even pose an issue to Loup is something you want to be careful with, especially if they don't know what else she has up her sleeves.
>>152149661Then why weren't they careful last time when Jack tried to punch her to death with fists enchanted by the divination specialist? It could be the first attempt was stupid on purpose, but I can't think of any reason why they'd want to do a fake assassination attempt when they do actually want to kill Kat.
>>152149111This isn't K6BD. But yes, swords are neat.
>emotionless blond girl is fucking invincibleHoly shit. Is Noa actually Jones? Do they beat her with a memory wipe and send her to the dawn of time?
>>152149829There was an Oakeshott chart looking wall with swords in an early chaptee. The one where Jones told Eglamore not to undress Annie, I think.
>>152149871You mean that one with the commentary that "multiple cultures see swords as really cool instead of tools for murder"?
>>152149871>>152149829Oh, my memory was wrong, it wasn't Oakeshott like and it wasn't a wall of swords, but the other anon actually directly quoted the page I thought I remembered.
>>152149893Parley would be doing much better in this fight if she had Coyote's Tooth.
Another good question might be how Zimmy knew about Omega.
>>152149895Tea! It Tea. Someone ask Tom what the fuck Tea's deal is. Is she Annie's future daughter she has with herself? Is she a robot? Why is she aware of her fictional nature? Seriously, the narrator is the most mysterious character in the entire comic.
>>152150541>Is she Annie's future daughter she has with herself?Obviously, her white hair is a result of Annie's redhead genes overlapping with themselves and producing the most pale hair pigment possible: white.
>>152148200Fucking Salad Fingers here is just Gojo, isn't she?
>>152150541She's Annie after usurping Kat's Godhood with a penis spear and cutting off Kat's face, thus setting into motion an ancient prophecy that will only be fulfilled when Kat's reincarnation comes back to right the heinous wrong
>>152150541Annie is the narrator of the comic, anon.Tea is an actor in some bonus pages. Tom is the narrator of those bonus pages.
>>152151601Can we get some art of Annie bathing in Kat's blood? Thx!
