I think he's cool as he's characterized in the comics, but he doesn't seem to have much focus.I read Annihilation Conquest but that was more of just a cameo, and I'm trying Adam Warlock's Roy Thomas run but it's kinda boring honestly. Gil Kane's art is awesome though.

So a Spider-Man cartoon had to be different enough.There was also a Spider-Man 2099 pitch that got dropped rather than compete with Batman Beyond. Leaving a few workshop elements to be recycled.
