this cartoon is making me retarded
>>152159908Yeah a while back i spent like a month plowing through the whole thing, it's rather mind numbing
>>152159908I watched like 20 episodes in a row one night and I fucking loved it. I totally get why kids were so obsessed with it back then. It's just stupid but it's that really fun kind of stupid.
>>152159986damn. the whole thing?I like how they don't really fight. they will like knock a barrel over and it will land on the bad guys head or something
>>152160049>It's just stupid but it's that really fun kind of stupid.not to mention its dumb
>>152159908It baffles me how anyone can praise this show when there's so much obviously wrong with it.
>>152160195the art and animation can get pretty jank. April is such a good waifu character though. Even when she's drawn crudely I want a piece of that.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mighty Mouse, Garfield and Friends, and others all feel part of this new zeitgeist of the time of really self aware cartoons that felt in on the joke. TMNT does get less clever and repetitive, but even then I can't say it wasn't aware it was hackery. Because of that, it's still more fun than most repetitive cartoons.
>>152160195>>152160206I wish more jank honestly. Would make it a more interesting watch.
>>152159908It's making you smarter. It has gifted you with awareness of pre-existing retardation. Hail the ooze.
>>152160182Blame mothers of the 90’s for that bullshit. It wasn’t just the TMNT, every action cartoon was like that because tHiNk Of ThE cHiLdReN
>>152160182Of course what's hilarious is that we're going from the Shredder in the movies, who's this ruthless gang leader who has taken control of New York City's underworld, to this dude, who basically spends the entire show being Krang's buttmonkey.
>>152160195I think people often remember everything surrounding the show more than the show itself. The cool toys, the awesome Konami games, some of the comics resembling the show, etc.At least that's how it was for me, I love TMNT as a kid but barely remember the cartoon. I rewatched the first episodes again recently and they were pretty cool, but I've heard the series drops off hard after that.
>>152160786The first movie didn’t come out until after three seasons of the cartoon. In fact, had the cartoon not made the TMNT the success it became, we probably wouldn’t have gotten that movie.
I’ve been doing a recent watch through, and it’s fine. I just finished season 6, and while there have been some stinkers, there have been plenty of great episodes too. It’s your standard late 80’s-early 90’s toon. The animation is slop a lot of the time, but the voice acting and characters interactions make up for it.It’s no wonder kids ate this stuff up way back when.
Feels like we got some Technodrome Forums Mirage purist babies here once again seething about how their favorite versions of the turtles never reached the heights of the 80’s cartoon.
>>152159908Watch the cartoon, OP.Buy the figs and merch, OP.Continue mindlessly consuming, OP.Yeah, it's mindless fun and I loved it too.>>152160195Animation was still on a downswing even while Disney was getting its second wind.>>152160786Shredder wasn't even that threatening or prevalent in the comics.
>>15216084580’s TMNT still seems to sell better than any of the newer versions though, or at least it feels like they do.
>>152159908ninja turtles rocks dude.
>>152159986>>152160182I did the same a couple years ago, it’s a good ride.
