I think every Spider-man fan should go read Wally West's run as The Flash. It's the exact kind of development and family growth story that Spider-man should and could have been.

I get the impression that Spiderman's villains would have to be more upbeat for that for it to work out thematically. Spiderman's villains are kinda too murdery for that. I mean, there's Hunter Zolomon for Wally, but mostly it's kept pretty light as far as I remember.

There was a point were a demon stile Wally and Linda's relationship and the love was so powerful and pure that it caused the demon pain and he had to come crawling to give it back so they made him undo all his bullshit first
