Jews were frozen out of high-clout publishing houses, those that focused on academic credibility and literary prestige, but were able to find space in the market for popular entertainment. Pulp fiction, crossword books, and the like. This isn't just Jewish creators, but Jewish-owned publishers. So when comic books came along as the next form of "lowbrow" entertainment there were plenty of young jewish boys ready to push them out.You see consolidation and big money coming in during the silver and bronze age, and it becomes less of a Jewish-dominated industry during those decades.
